Luna doesn't appear in the series, OVAs or movies. The only things we know from her are told by Lina herself and we just get an idea of how she looks like by some artbook pictures.

It was rumoured she would appear in a fourth series of Slayers but I gather they aren't going to make it.

A picture of her is shown in the opening titles of Slayers Next. She's the ominous waitress. Though she never actually appears in the series, its the only time that you will see her.

Slayers Again was/is the fourth series of Slayers. It's rumoured to be in production or near completion but that has never been confirmed.

I've also heard that the makers of the series declared they weren't going to make any more series after Slayers Try due to some sort of dispute. I have a feeling they were forced to change the ending of Try or something.

Luna Inverse is said to be the avatar for the soul of the Flare dragon. She works as a waitress in her homeland. When Lina was younger she tried to make some money by magically showing a picture of Luna having a bath. Luna found her doing this and apparently taught Lina the meaning of fear as a result. It's my suspicion that she she sent Lina to save the world in Slayers Try because the prophecy called for a human to do the job and Luna, possessing the soul of the Flare dragon, didn't qualify.

It would be interesting to see Naga in a Slayers series, especially if she runs into Amelia who, it is rumoured, is her younger sister. More likely they would do the same runaround they did in the Slayers Royal video game.

In any case if you need your Slayers fix you could check out Lost Universe which is set in the same universe as Slayers.

Um, I'm talking about same Universe, not same world. Darkstar and Lina are in the same Universe because they met up.

Universe = everything
World = Planet

If you visit www.inverse.org they have a pretty good explaination (from the Slayers viewpoint) of the relationship between Slayers and Lost Universe. I'm going to try to render it here...bear with me.

****POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR BOTH SERIES****

The Dark Golden Lord (Lord of Nightmares) is split between four parallel world-planes. One of these planes contains the Slayers world/universe, another contains the Dark Star/Volfied world/universe. Lina-tachi come in contact with Alumace, who is from the Dark Star/Volfied universe.

Evidence of the DGL/LoN existence in the Lost Universe story can be seen when Rail commands the clone inhabited by Dark Star near the end of the series. I can't remember the exact wording used, but it is similar to what Lina uses when casting the Giga Slave.

Haven't watched it in awhile, but I _do_ remember him saying "Konton no umi yo, tayutaishi mono" an' also "Konjiki narishi yami no ou" . . Which just happen t'be two of th' lines of Giga Slave. . ^^; . . ::coffkoff:: . . Both of which are also lines used for describing L-sama. . ^^. . (Y'know, Sea of Chaos and Golden-colored King of Darkness) . . .

Perhaps you should use the term "Multi-verse". Universe (uni means "one") has been frequently used to describe everything in a single dimension. From the sounds of the Slayers and Lost Universe series, their world (DnD word meaning the place(s) the characters can roam) spans 4 dimensions.

I guess you could call it a multiverse, which is more accurate than universe. That is technically what it is: four interconnected, parallel universes. It gets a bit more complicated than that, though....

This is the way I see it:

Lina and friends live on a single world with three different "planes" to it. For convenience I'll call them the mortal plane, the deity plane, and the demon plane. The mortal plane is where the action takes place. It is the physical world. The deity plane is on a higher level than the mortal plane, but is an exact duplicate of it. It is where the gods live. The demon plane is below the mortal plane and is again, an exact duplicate. It is where the demons, or mazoku, dwell. Most mortals (aka normal people) cannot cross between the three planes.

Lost Universe takes place in an actual *universe* rather than on a single world. The people rely on technology rather than magic, although the technology used often seems like magic.

I don't know how the other two worlds/universes are set up because there is no information about them. Perhaps there will be more at some point in time, but we can only hope.

I also don't know how the timelines in Lost Universe and Slayers relate to each other, but they don't seem to be in sync. Arumace doesn't look like he's from the same timeline as Kane Blueriver and Canal Volfied. I have a theory though....::wry grin:: (I have lots of theories).

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

I think Arumace is from an earlier time period than Kane and Canal. I think he is one of the people who actually developed the Lost Ships in the first place. When DarkStar and Volfied meet in Lost Universe it isn't the first time they have had that confrontation. It's been a while since I've seen Slayers TRY though, so I could be way off the mark. I'm going to have to watch it again to make sure.
