Hey there-

A friend showed me the Feedback part of Toonami.com's Reactor section, and trigun is among animes being voted for to be on Toonami someday. Since I dont mind the dub, I'm cool with it being on. But, if you dont like the dub, or dont want it on Toonami, theres Evangelion to vote for too. (Personally, I dont want Eva on, but hey) Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.

Trigun rules!

NOOOOOOOOOOO :redhot:

If Toonami butchers this show that would be an unforgiveable act! I don't think either show should be shown on Toonami... Toonami would hack either show into wierd pieces.... I could see it now... Vash is fighting someone then all of a sudden *edit*...... Everything is fine now, just mysteriously fine with no reason or eplanation as to why everything is fine. :dodgy: Can't they stop the humanity already?

We asked Pioneer for their official stance on this matter. In an e-mail to Anime News Network, Pioneer representative Chad Kime wrote "As far as I am aware, this is simply an error by Tokyo Pop. Trigun certainly has never aired on the Cartoon Network..."

Chad cited the excessive use of guns impeding discussions with Cartoon Network. It's not sealed and buried, though, as Chad hopefully stated, "Never say never, just say not yet."

Tokyopop's Trigun Soundtrack included the description "...the hit anime seen on Cartoon Network and distributed by Pioneer Entertainment."

Since it is well-known that Trigun has not aired on Cartoon Network before, rumors have spread suggesting Trigun would be airing on Cartoon Network soon.

I think Trigun could make it onto Toonami with a few edits. Take into account that I have seen only the first 7 episodes so it could get grusome towards the end. For all I know, starting with ep 8 the whole thing could turn into one big bloody boob fest (crosses fingers)

After seeing the whole series, I think Trigun has a much better chance in being on CN compared to NGE. There would be edits of course and unless this would go to the Midnight Run, there would be a cut down on blood. I just think that if CN is airing DBZ, which has nothing but fist fights and such, and Gundam Wing that has 15/16 year olds using guns and piloting the Gundams, why can't they get Trigun?

The only problem is the mindless kids that ruin it for everyone else.

Trigun being on toonami would be cool, although I would not watch it unless I was bored.

And if you don't like it on Toonami, don't watch it. Just enjoy it on DVD.

Superior-quality Vash avatar ya got there, L.

IF Trigun is aired on Toonami and some reactionist gun-hater group starts static about it, I hope someone at CN or Pioneer calmly responds that the hero severely downplays (at least up to what I've seen in "Angel Arms") violence and gunplay and wishes only for the well-being of everyone he meets. I hope they would have the presence to explain the morals the series tells.

Thanks! It looks like someone knows Vash's eyes (or glasses) when they see it.

Yea. Just gotta explain to the world that the protagonist is a peace-loving pacifist who stresses that no one has the right to take the life of another, and those Rem ideals. And they should use the tagline "LOVE AND PEACE!" haha.

Pertaining the little side subject of Vash's purty yellow-tinted sleek glasses of coolness. Come to think of it, in ep,11 when Wolfwood smashes Vash's glasses, he goes to a shoemaker in ep.12 and talks about stuff. And that stuff leads me to believe that the shoemaker was fixing his glasses. Hey, that might be true.

Noooo they'll butcher it. Wait a minute I have the unedited DVDs. Fine then they can air it and watch as it gets taken off as fast as Escaflowne was.

No way will Trigun ever, EVER get on CN - I say that, and I've only seen up to Gung-Ho Guns, for cryin' out loud. The whole series revolves around guns, for a start, and most of the time they're talking about killing, etc. And as for LEGATO... Jesus, the guy would just be one big edited grey blur. No WAY would CN take that kinda risk!
And I wouldn't mind THAT much if the unedited DVD's were still available... but every time I hear about a series that I know and love (Such as Trigun, Nadesico or EVA) being a possibility for a Toonami slot, it really brings me down. I just don't wanna see these shows go that way, people. Even if they're not edited, it's the audience, it's the surrounding slots, it's the spirit and principle of the thing... I'm sorry, I just can't sum it up in words: if CN even CONSIDER this, in my eyes they've gone too far.

That's sounds better than fine. I know everyone here is irritated by the editing, but I think it's a good idea for the people who can't see these shows any other way. If they're thinking about it, I say go for it! It would be a pretty big leap from Outlaw Star.

Personally, I'd love to see how the public reacted when/if they put End of Eva on CN... ... ... Hideaki Anno's private couch trip on live TV. That would be funny. Love and Peace! Love and Peace! Love and Peace! Etc... ad infinitum... -JinX

It can happen, but they would butcher it

***potential spoilers***

I mean Vash hates killin people, but he does, Legato kills like hundreds of people, what are they gonna cover that up with, oh they had really bad headaches, so thats why blood shot out of their ears...really, I mean forget Menov the Gale episode, he kills the entire freakin town and the shoe makers head is in a paper bag...plus even the last fight with Knives, when people get shot, blood shoots out, well get out the editing tools cause I see 20 out of 26 episodes makin it, NGE 5 out of 26 would air and neither of the movies, hell Outlaw Star rocks in japanese compared to english and it wasn't that bad, plus I have 1 word for all you who think Trigun will make it to CN...Columbine, no way folks, it will not happen and thank GOD for that

Gouki Akuma

yah thats kinda cool but kinda not, I mean what happens when

*spoiler*

Wolfwood is dieing and you see Vash looks for him to answer about Knives and only see's his blood! Or other scenes which need curse making them even funnier in some cases it just seems it would ruin the show to some kid, but yet again you could still watch it so thats cool

Trigun on Toonami? That would really ruin it. I would hate for them to edit that one line where that little kid was hitting on Meryl, and Vash is like " Sorry kid, I dont think you should, she is really bitchy" Oh the look on her face  . Anyways, what about all those suicides that the Gung Ho Guns comit? They will probably take those out too. Toonami would only make a mockery of Trigun I tell you! A mockery!

All right all you happy people, let me clear up this little thing. Trigun will never air on toonami for one simple reason.

Toonami wants space-technology related things.

Trigun, despite being on an different planet, is a western, not a sci-fi. Toonami will never want it.

Never.

Adult Swim, on the other hand, is a different thing. It's possible they could get Trigun, it be nice if they would. But in all honesty I'm doubt we'll ever get to see Trigun on public television.

James

I agree with Shenrezade. The odds of Trigun being put on Toonami anytime in the near future are slim to none. The show revolves too much around guns and killing. And on top of that as Shenrezade said, Toonami seems to be more into the Sci-fi space type shows. With the exception of DBZ, but even that involves aliens and spaceships at some point or another.

In the end I trully hope that shows like Trigun, Eva, etc never make it onto mainstream television, because they would either grosely pervert them into something completely different from what they were intended to be, or half the audience wouldn't get them and just talk trash about them for the rest of their lives. If they want to see these shows so bad do what everyone else does. Buy the series, or borrow it from someone you know. That fact alone shows that your interested enough in the series to be willing to make an attempt to understand it, and to be openminded enough to accept it for what it is in the end.

true. theres been a lot of rumors that trigun would be on AS. and also, sorry if you already know this, but did you know that pioneer literally offered trigun to toonami but CN declined becuase of its excessive use of guns?

Screening on Adult Swim would be the better of the two viewing hours since it wouldn't be edited so much. Take Cowboy Bebop for example. Although there's some pretty serious stuff during the later half of Trigun. But for you kids out there Toonami might be your best bet if your parents don't allow you to stay up so late. That is unless you live in a better time zone. :D

As much as people want to talk bad about CN and Toonami, you have to respect, at least, there is a source for anime on cable tv. It may be edited, but it brings a larger audience to one of our favorite pass times.

The new audience may or may not realize that these are highly eidited versions of the "real" thing. Either way, it's really no loss to real anime fans. You can educate the people who don't know, and the people who do know, well, they'll be out looking for the real versions at their local shops or on the internet.

I think airing shows like this on cable networks is a win-win situation for anime. If you personally do not like it, then don't watch. But if you like anime, then you should be for it, just because it gives the viewing masses a chance to see why we care for it so much.

I'm with Drizz on this one: the guns aren't so bad because Vash never wants to kill anyone (up to half way through the series, at least). Is that a good hero or what?

Bring it on! Toonami or Adult Swim, I would welcome CN to bring this awesome series to tv.

Or so I think.

No, I think Trigun has a real bad chance of being aired on Toonami, since it has a lot to do with guns and killing...and yet the title even means "three guns"!

But Adult Swim, I think that's a very good idea! Trigun would be very suitable for Adult Swim, and may not even need editing! Except for blood, that is. I think there's a 60-70% chance it'll be on Adult Swim, from all the rumors I've heard.

Even if Trigun is chosen, I really think they should keep Cowboy Bebop on a few times more too. It's such a wonderful anime, and deserves more fans.

James

I personnally think they should pull Cowboy Bebop after one or two more runs here, and then after maybe a half a year or so bring it back on. It definitely is a good series, but if they keep milking it it will just eventually go sour. I say leave the audience wanting more, and then after a while give it too them. In the mean time they can move on to other projects (Trigun, etc.)

Just my opinion though...

Check the pic comes from First screenshot of Trigun-toonami version! (http://animeboards.com/t20084/s.html) thread. If this were the case, then yes it definately would be aired. How about that for excessive use of guns?

I have no problem if Trigun is aired on Adult Swim. Cowboy Bebop had material that is not suitable for some viewers just like Trigun yet they aired it on AS with the warning 'My not be suitable for audiences under the age of 18....blah blah blah' right before the show. They can do the same for Trigun.

well if bebop made it into air with litle edits (sometimes none), then trigun would be on uncut, or pro'lly all the series would just have minimal edits (less than 10). (yes, i do think bebop is more violent than trigun)

Morbius, could you link me the vote thing on toonami reactor? I don't see any feedback or whatever on there. And I think there's at least a decent chance of getting on, it's not about killing people, it's about stopping people killing people. Hilda and lots of other pirates die early in OLS, people die a million times in DBZ, so I don't think the dead Gung-ho Guns are going to really stop it.
