Who else thinks that Jim and Aisha are a cute couple?

Sure, the relationship that they possess is more brother/sister than anything close to romantic... yet.

They complement each other SO well. Aisha's constant exhuberence is the perfect counterpoint to Jim's calm logic. The bond that they currently share is pretty tender and close.

And who knows? Time can only make bonds stronger, and by the time Jim's hormones kick in (which is pretty soon) and make the romantic aspects of the relationship not so weird, what a cute couple we will have!! And considering the growing amount of "older girls" relationships in recent successful anime (Dual, FLCL), it won't be sick in any way.

Hopefully this concept would be explored in the not so implausible sequel series. For as shown in the spinoff "Angel Links", the Outlaw Star Universe is an ongoing one.

We (I hope I'm not the only one) can only hope with baited breath that Jim and Aisha's coupling will be shown in a future series (or at least OVA).

Actually, it is pretty clear by the end of the series that although Gene is still somewhat affectionate towards the barmaid of his homeworld, he is quite devoted to and faithful to Melfina.

Suzuka and Aisha are friends and comrades to him, and not anything more than friends and comrades.

Well, he is only half a decade (12) or so younger than Aisha (18). And I did say "when his hormones kick in (14).

Its not so odd considering the following couples in recent anime:


Hitokirir Battousai (15) and Yukishiro Tomoe (18)
of "Ruronin Kenshin."

Mitsuki (18) and Kazuki (16) of "Dual"

Haruko (Possibly in her 100's) and the boy (12) of "FLCL."

And come on, let's be fair!! Gene is 20 and Melfina is 16!! There's a substanital age difference there but do I hear anyone complaining?

And considering the "legal" age of conscent in Japan is now 14, Jima and Aisha's coupling would not be so bad now, would it?

Well, she is not a beast per-se, but a lycanthrope (were-creature). So any possible relationship that Aisha has with Jimmy would be more akin to that of Willow and Oz in the "Buffy" universe than that of Michael Jackson with his chimp Bubbles.

Age difference aside, it will more likely remain a "Lina/Gourry" (IE Smart/Stupid, Brother/Sister) relationship than it ever becoming a truly romantic one.

In other words, sure the love is there, but they are so close to each other that they would consider sex yucky.

I think that would be a very interesting couple to see, and I see how it could be possible. I can't wait to see the next Outlaw Star series. This is another possibility to consider.

Of course not. Gene and JIm's relationship is one of mutual respect and reliance, whereas Jim's relationship with Aisha is one of brotherly/sisterly affection (they actually hug each other, unlike with Gene).

Also, calm down, relax, start breathing. Consider first the possibility that just as you would be attracted to shagadelic ladies above the age of 20, dirty old yaoi Yakuza bosses above the age of 50 would now also be legally allowed to be "attracted" to you. And with the right hands shaken, he can actually get away with it.

But if you're careful, by all means have fun!!

Its so clear that Aisha loves Jimmy so much! She was willing to risk her life fighting one of "The Seven" for him in the Second Last Episode!! And if Jimmy didn't like her back (as when they first met) he would have left her behind as a liability.
