"Saber J to X" is the continuation of "Saber marionette J" after "Saber J again". I think that it continues the story and particularly the realtionship between Otaru and his marionettes (Lime, Bloodberry, and Cherry). It really makes u think particularly about frienship and love and how easily they dissapear.
(spoiler)
I thought that they ended the show very well with Otaru not having to chose between them because they've been reborn as children and Otaru becomes their father.
Does enyone know exactly how that happened; the whole them becoming human?

They become human-machine beause their maiden circuit growing in the whole serie and they can feel who it is to be a human but they stay marionettes with super powers ...

I cant wait to see J to X !!! (but artwork is not made by the same artist I think ... or he just change he style .. I perfer the original one in SMJ )

Its obvious that the babies recieved the personalities of the marrionetes as well as their physical caracteristics ( as we see in the final two episodes) But please can anyone tell me how they got from the exploding Neo-mesopotamia all the way to the master clones on terra 2.

Well, as Lisa Simpson once so aptly put it, "You are not born with a soul, you EARN one through experiencing life."

Had the three marionettes merely followed their programmed designations, they would not have reincarnated, for they are merely acting human.

However, through suffering they learned love and the preciousness of life, and hence earned souls that would last forever.

Hence their reincarnation.

It's true that they earned their souls and theur reincaranation, but one thing still bothers me, they seem to have transfered their physical appearance, personality and memories.

How could such a transformation occur???

I have a quick question about J to X... does Marine come back? Marine is my favorite Marionette and I'd be heart broken to find out she wasn't in J to X.

I never trust Sequels to anime...Although I thought that Saber Marionette R was a good movie!

Sorry to revive this thread. I just received and viewed Saber Marionette J-X yesterday as part of my belated 21st.

Icantpickascreename - Saber Marionette R is after J-X and they're OAVs not one big movie sequence.

For all the Marine fans, I hate to say nor can I spoil it for you guys. I have to order my Program 2 soonish.

I'm with you on the sequel thing, but J to X is one of the few that is just as good as the original series in my opinion. However, the sequel does start expecting you to know the main characters, so most of the first half of the series is comic relief while it gets dead serious in the second half.

The same guy did the character designs. I think his name is Tsukasa Kotobuki. There are two interviews with him as extras on two of the DVD volumes. They're worth watching. As far as the design change, they had to accomplish two things with the new designs. They had to make them easily computer-colorable, and aimed more at children, though the former is probably the more logical reason. You'll get used to the changes, and in some ways, they actually fit the series a little better.:)
