Folken, Allen or Vahn

If you were to choose between the three, who would you choose???

For me, I don't know why but I guess Folken, I'm just fascinated with him being calm and cool like he has everything under control. He has grown wise from his experience. I think I want him for an Elder brother, I think we can get along well.

Well, more or less I agree with you Kakerjak, but why can they see the greatness of Folken like the two cat-ladies. Well, his also a great swordsman, his also got the looks and his damn cool. I also like Van and Allen but Folken is much more intriguing and interesting and he can rock.

I dont necessarily agree with my statement either.. it was just beginning to appear that way.. with the exception of Fenix :heh:

He is extremely cool under pressure.. sometimes makes me think of a Vulcan. Though he's emotions also slip out at times. Which proves his humanity and renders his overall character all the more impressive, imho.

Well, I guess I've always been a sucker for the real tragic types...I"m gonna have to say Folken is my favorite.

I used to really like Allen, but slowly and surely Folken has taken Allen's place in my affections. Yes, Allen is extremely attractive, but Folken is as well.

Folken is a very dark hero. I can no longer see him as 'evil' at any point in the series. Yes, he made bad choices. Yes, he had to live with them. The thing is, even from the very beginning, you can tell (or I could) that Folken really cares for his younger brother. I mean, look at what he did....

I will now stop repeating myself and get on with my life. ::grins::

I only listed Allen, Vahn and Folken because I wanted some sort of response between the male heroine. On the other Hand Dilandau, is neither a hero nor a man.

I'll vote Dilandau (mwahaha), merely because psychopaths can be the most interesting of characters. Folken is awesome, but too stoic, Van always seems too young, and Allen, I've always liked Van better than him. I've never liked the charming 'playboy' types much...

(NOTE: Thinking about it, out of all the anime - and even life for the most part - I don't think my fave characters have ever been the blondes. I guess I like the dark hair/eyes better. Wish Vahn had the black wings - I did like those - but prefer Vahn to Folken.)

Anyways, Villains are a bit interesting but they often get into to my nerves and pisses me a lot so I hardly both for them or never at all.

Most of you guys really like the Folken's Black wings.....I guess it kinda looks neat and stuff.

To me, the 'villains' are often the most interesting characters. There's generally a lot more to them than the desire for power or the desire for revenge. If all Dilandau was was a psycho who burned everything with no explanation for his motivation, I'm sure I wouldn't like him nearly as much. One of the aspects that makes Escaflowne so good is the following... You think Folken is the villain, but you keep watching, and it turns out he's really not. You think Dilandau is the villain, but you keep watching, and it turns out it's the sorcerers and the fate changes that are behind him. You think Dornkirk, the 'big guy' must be the villain................but even he is not. The 'villains' are ourselves, thinking our wishes are automatically above everyone elses (see: Van...& colliding wishes), thinking that fate can be changed or that there is a fate that can be changed (depending on how you see it). It's true that Dornkirk is responsible, but so is Hitomi.

As for Folken's black wings, well, I must admit, I think his hair is a heck of a lot neater than Van's mop as well. ...And I've never been much of a fan of long-haired anime guys.
