Fushigi Yuugi is the story about a girl who is taken into a story book and gets to live out the tale that is written in that book. That is basicly what its about.

As to wether it is good or not, that depends. Fushigi is a very Shoujo anime, so I guess it would depend on your taste. I just rented the first 16 episodes and I personally say I didn't care much for the show, in fact I ended up watching the last 4 episodes in fast forward. But then again, I don't like Shoujo anime in general. So if you don't like Shoujo then this probably wouldn't change your mind about the genre, but if you like Shoujo, then you will probably like this show since a lot of people seem to like it.

Miaka Yuuki is a 15 years old girl that is taken in a book taking place in ancient china, with her bestfriend Yui Hongo. to obtain 3 wishes, she accepts to become the Suzaku no miko (priestess of Suzaku). she has to gather her 7 suzaku wariors in order to summon the god of the south Suzaku, and save the Konan empire. anyway, along the way, Yui becomes her enemy, Miaka feels in love.... well there's many things that happens ^^;

but I guess Manta is right, if ya don't like shoujo style.... you can always rent the first 4 eps to see if ya like it ^^;

Tasuki is kool, I just got the fourth Fushigi Yuugi Manga, when Tasuki comes in and hes so cute him and Tamahome are the only non- crossdressers...i think

shoujo is an anime for girls, it involves tangled love triangle and really REALLY kewl guys

and fushigi yugi, i read the manga by yu watase, it's funny, and the guys are really kewl, but miaka gets on my nerve :redhot: i can't believe she cheated on tamahome for hotohori, everybody always risking their life just to save her, and all she cares about is tamahome, personally, i don't think she is that pretty, she look like a 10 year old compare to everyone else NO DA!! hopefully, she is better in the anime
