hmm...Nanako is good, but kinda hard to get into...You have to really pay attention to like it. And I like the jiggling boobs, although they are a bit too pointy for me..
Oh, and the dub sucks..makes her sound like Serena from Sailor Moon....definitely not good.
Another great thing about the show...the Doctor is hot. *drools*

Someone (probably Oogi ;) ) posted a little clip from Nanako before... Sure, it's sexist and ridiculous, but I dare anyone not to laugh when they see that...

I agree with Yumiko... also i'll toss in that its.... how shall we say this.... pointless? :heh: No offense but theres just a lack of plot in it IMHO. And I mean yea... Like any other guy I like a little fan service an all... but those boobs are totally unreal.... shoot, I'd be afraid if someone were really like that IRL. I'd feel like she'd need turn signals for those things or something.

Tis all fan service. Nanako is targeted at teenage guys looking for skin. There's a plot there somewhere, but I'll tell you when I've found it.

How did the agree smiley become "humpin' bob"? Is there some sort of interesting story to go with the origin of his name?

I kinda just made it up one day. It looked like he was humping...so I decided to call him "Humpin' Bob".

The fan service isn't really needed, but if you like that sorta thing, ok, it's there. As well as lots of slap-stick comedy.
The secondary story, however is pretty moving. But there are some MAJOR ethical and theological ramifications to the main story. I won't spoil it for you, just see it for yourself. That part fascinated the crap outta me. I loved that.

Its an 6 episodes ova, not 12. Like tfcreate said, though on the surfice it look like just another hormone driven anime, but deep down there is quite a good story. Some moral and ethical questions regarding towards cloning of a loved one and there is a maniacal villain who wants to rule the world :D.

Weird... at the end? Van honey, at what point in the show wasn't werid?
I didn't really like it all that much. It had SOME funny parts, but other then that, just plain werid.
I like Cutie Honey better. (HONEY FLASH!)

Oh, OK I must have mis-remembered the person :heh:
Someone put up an animated GIF (a long time ago!) lasting about 2 seconds that show Nanako moving into place while cooking - and two other parts of her body following soon after

Nanako is sooooo kawaiii.
Very funny anime and it's got a deeper plot then just a bunch of boobs... but still Nanako really makes up the story and is so adorable!!! The mean professor is just....too mean I believe and Nanako tries her best to please him(not sexually mind you)....
Not only that but, Nanako has one of the cutest seiyuus around....
Maria Yamamoto (http://www.geocities.com/seiyuu_directory/maria.html) . Who also did the voice for Kano from Kare Kano and the voice of May in Hand Maid May... she's in quite a few popular animes ehh.

Nanako is fan service I didn't find the story moving at all. The story feels tacked on just for the sake of having one, the main reason for this is that's exactly what happened. If your looking for shameless fanservice even Burn Up W is leaps and bounds above this.

The fanservice element is there for those who like it. Personally, I liked the fact that the Doctor missed the woman who raised him and was always there when he needed her. It was hardly contrived that he was crushed when she died, and blamed his father, another doctor, for not being able to help her. His genious, coupled to his obsession with Nanako, lead him to the experiments in cloning. Unfortunately he had to make compromises with some bad guys to get the technology he needed. And even then, the cloning process was not perfect, HIS Nanoko, while kind and caring, was a bubble head. The cloning process was not perfect...... initally.
Like I said earlier, If there were NO fanservice in this I would have watched it. I like the story, and the charaters. It's something unique, no mindless violence, a generous dose of silliness, and a lead charater that's not angst ridden or wreaking with "attitude."
Many people can't or won't look beyond the fanservice. If it suits them, ok. As for me, I need a lot more than that.

It was a pretty good series that had some skin but I have a girlfriend so I don't need this show(:naughty: ). But for the Humpin Bob guy, here's to ya

Whee finally got my box set!
It's interesting that MrBS mentioned Burn-Up W. Nanako looks like the guys (and surely it was guys ;) ) at Pioneer saw what a success ADV had with that title, and said "We gotta get us some of that!"
The big pointy boobs are pretty much taken straight from BUW. Really, they are there purely for fanservice - even Rio's "assets" were used (however peripherally) in the story. Nanako seems to be a mix of Lilica's innocence, Maya's destructiveness, and Nanvel's purely gratuitous jiggling.
Dr. Ogami, on the other hand, for some reason reminds me of Integra in Hellsing - sorta that lean face and "in-control boss" personality.
Somehow, Pioneer manages to make Nanako rather sympathetic even though she was a ditz. Perhaps the poor treatment she had to take made me feel sorry for her.
The opening music also reminds me very much of the closing music in Terminator 2 - which echoes the "artificial human" theme of that movie.
All in all, it's a nice little show which won't change your life, but manages to rise above its derivative origins and slightly distracted execution.

Yeah, okay this show has scarred my life. It's kinda perverted isn't? Yeah, i'm glad i didn't buy this... I rather waste my money on a video game strategy guide and then cut it to pieces....
But, it is funny, but messed up all in one anime show.

A glimpse into the ethics of cloning a lived one seems pretty deep to me. Then again, it's just me. :D
