What's the story

I've just watched my first episode of
outlaw star last week during a screening at MAS (Melbourne Anime Society, join now!:smokin: ) and i thought it was excellent (even though i didn't fully understand it). in the episode a pirate girl commited suicide by jumping into the sun and they found a fancy space ship what's the story of the show. Please don't spoil it though. :mad:

There are still a few more characters for you to be introduced to. Also, the hints at Gene's past become more interesting and involved as things go on. Essentially, the ship Hilda left behind is quite important and saves Gene's and Jim's asses often. Watch the next 4-5 eps and come back with more questions.

the first 5 are beyond essential to understanding the story, the majority of all major characters get introduced to you, I cannot really explain the story without spoiling it, just say its a big treasure hunt across space to make it big, and make a name for themselves...with all sorts of misadventures along the way, has lots of good action, but is hysterical as well:lol:

Hot Springs Planet Tenrei is the best episode hands down!

Unfortunetly, you can only get Hot Springs Planet Tenrei on VHS. Too fan servicy <sp> for Cartoon Network. Haven't seen it but from what I hear, it's decent, but I wouldn't call it the best. My personal favorite is the episode with the arrival of "The Great One." :lol: Overall, a very good anime and only gets better after the beginning. :cool:

I personally thought the first 4 episodes were the best, then once they killed off Hilda things went down hill. It was a great show, but it never reached the level again as those first 4 eps. And no, you don't have to worry about seeing the early eps, because the way OS is structured, you can come into the show around episode 10 or so and get into it pretty easily. The first 10 eps or so are pretty much just introduction episodes to get us introduced to the life of Gene and the others, and how the pirates want to get the XGP.
