how come there was never a girl who changes into a boy in the series? it's always a boy changing into a girl... It would be interesting to see a girl's reaction when she finds out that she lost some assets as Ranma gained some....
well I'd think i'd be weird if there was a girl who changed to a guy...not that vice versa isn't weird. I don't know how to explain it...i'd just be weird.

Hmmmmm...maybe because they put the man pond to be very mythical, like nobody can find it, so to put a girl changing into a boy kinda takes away from it. Maybe.
If they met, Ranma would jus follow her to the spring 0_o. There should be a spring of drowned dragon, they DO have that spring of winged minotaur or something.

true it would be weird, but I reckon they could skirt the issue of weirdness like they always do...
maybe they don't do it because there is already a girl/guy character.

I'd like to fall into the spring of drowned man.
Plus, isn't Ukyo sort of a boy that turns into a girl :D
Tee hee, don't hit me ^_^

Before I discovered my Penguin Heritage....I loved Minotaurs. Asteron the great minotaur. Minos his kind, daedalus the creator of the labyrinth..theses (bad spelling) that bastard who killed the minotaur....
nah, I just loved using all the minotaurs from magic the gathering!!
dammit, I really wanna see the first ep. So if there many ponds? and it's recorded what was drowned in each? or was there one pond, and in it many things had drowned, and if ya fell in u became what drowned last? technically wouldn't a lot of insects have drowned in it? and fish if there's any? like, old frogs and things who never made it to the shore?

There aren't any signs or anything. The Jusenkyo gude just seems to know what each pond is. I think you become what drowned there last, I could tell you how I think this, but it's a really big spoiler, tell me if you don't mind. As for the bugs and stuff, IT'S ANIME! You can't over complicate things.

ok ok..tell meee!! so this guide...was a person? and Ranma CHOSE to become a female? and the other chose their forms? or was he gonna choose or what? I (would) feel sorry for that red headed pigtailed girl.. drowning is such a horrible way to go out, and so young too... heheh.

Ranma didn't CHOOSE to become a girl... he fell accidentally on the cursed spring. I wrote the whole story at the "lotsa Ranma questions" thread.
Talking about THIS thread, Ranma is rare. It's the ONLY person that turns into PEOPLE. All the others turn into animals... that's weird. On the other hand I've read (don't know HOW sure this is) that the author -Rumiko Takahashi- made Ranma turn into a girl because she wasn't unsure about making a male character (this is the first male main character she does) so she made him half and half... quite interesting, isn't it?
remember rouge? she turns into something like a demi-god. ^_^ and what's his face that turns into ... oh that guy from the musk dinasty! he turned into a girl too!!!

Ok.... SPOILERS!!!
Don't say i didn't warn you!
Ranma's not the only one who turns into people. There's a Sping of Drowned Akane that someone makes and uses on purpose to hurt Ranma.

well.... actually I think mainly about manga's parts of the series
I bet that that episode was made up by the tv pals.
remember that more than 200 episodes aren't from Takashi.
There are a lot of episodes that are contradictory, that you REALLY see
that is not well co-related.
Think of this: when Ranma's Anime started, manga readers started to
complain because Shampoo hadn't appeared yet. Then they modified
the script and made Shampoo appear sooner. I don't exactly remember
(I saw the whole ranma 2 years ago). But there was an episode where
Ranma was telling the story about Shampoo chasing him(her) to kill him
(her) as some kind of anecdote of his trip to China.
And the episode RIGHT before that one Shampoo was one of
the main characters, besides the fact that the story had been told
on the episode Shampoo appeared.
And as far as I know, on the original script, Ranma is the only character
that becomes something "human", not an animal.

I'm bored. . . so gonna list any other people that turn into humans. . . or anything that closely fits ^^;;
One of Saffron's people went into Spring of Drowned (and still alive) Akane. . .
Hm. . . Herb was definately in the manga, and he definately was cursed in the same spring as Ranma ^_^;;
And. . . Rouge was in the manga as well, had the spring of drowned Goddess (somethin' along the lines), which kind'a counts as human. . .
And I'm sure that the manga had the storyline where Happosai's almost splashed with Spring of Drowned Virtuous Man. . . which kind'a counts. . ^^

it can get old and too weak to keep breathing. fish don't live forever u know :-) and their death wouldn't be instant I don't think if it's from old age
