What is the difference between the different series of Lodoss? Also Etoh is gay. Thank you.

I was thinking more along the lines of plot differences, animation quality, plot quality...

The animation and music in the OVA is better. And depending on who you speak to in here there is differing views on which is better.

IMHO I feel that overall, the OVAs' deliver a whole lot better then the TV series.

Etoh sounds Gay in the english version, but I don't know about the original.

Secondly, you're talking about a man who marries a princess and becomes King of Valis.

Everything about Etoh bugs me... he's just not a good character, in my opinion anyway.

Yeah, I know, I never said I liked him.

He's my least favorite character, but since he marries the princess and spends most of the TV series as King of Valis with very little screen time, I have no problems.

The OVA comes in a set of 6 VHS tapes, each with a purple border on the sides, and an animated cover. When all 6 are lined up side by side, it actually makes an animated picture of Shooting Star, the Demon Dragon.

The TV series dubbed edition comes in 9 VHS volumes with Red Borders. The picture on the front is more 'art-like' and each volume comes with a title such as "A New Legend Begins" "Demon Sword" "Scepter of Domination" "Dark Shadow" "Black Knight" "The Last Hope" etc.

Be aware that the TV series also comes in a purple-blue color, its the subbed version.

The DVD versions are as follows since you left out the deatils on those.

Greyish box=OVA
Red box=TV Series.

Etoh definitely gets a back seat.... but he serves a purpose. Hes sorta like a filler. Hes there for us to ignore. :lol:

Its like a staph/sceptor looking thing. He also has his holy prayers which is the only effective thing against demonic forces.... so he has some usefullness at times. :p
