Question about an incident

When Misato laid down on the ground after she was shot, just after she kissed Shinji in EoE, she says "I should of done what Auska suggested and changed the carpets..... isnt that right Pen2"
What was she on, was it just her dilusioned from loss of blood, Carpet.... it doesnt make sense to me? Can anyone elaborate?

i didn't get that either. It's either the effects of the Third Impact setting in (doubtful) or as you said, delirium due to loss of blood or her proximity to death. Just one more thing to eternally puzzle over

Or look at it like this,
Here she is knowing that death is at hand (but unsure about the effects of third impact) and her mind wanders onto a seemingly insignifiacnt matter. It is almost like she is playing down the meaning of death, that death itself is trivial.
After her life, maybe she would like to die.
(as an aside, i dont know how many of you have ever read real suicide notes but often the focus of these notes is upon trivial matters, but things which now seem important to the person, and it is often to do with another person
so here Misato's focus upon a suggestion by Asuka is not so meaningless
i could be way off from the intention of Anno-san though)

Well I orginally thought it was because she was bleeding everywhere.... but 10 seconds later I released A)PenPen wasnt present (it surprisingly took me time to relaise this... heheh) and B) That she wasnt even in her Apartment.... well at least now I know others had difficulty with this question.
