I have just got four tapes of this series and thought they were not that bad. Has anyone elese seen this series, because I was wondering if anyone thought the voice actor doing the english vocals for the character Mackey sound like Shinji from NGE.

I just recognised the reason for the similarity for the dubbed voice of Mackey in BGC 2040 and Shinji in the NGE dubs, the voice acting for both is done by Spike Spencer.

Well, that'd be your first clue!! Spike Spencer's also in the credits for Gunsmith Cats, although I've never picked up which character he is - his Shinji voice is so different from his normal voice!! Another VA from NGE..... whatshername... anyway, Asuka's VA also has a bit part in Gunsmith Cats, she plays their friend, Becky.
