Would buying Outlaw Star really be worth the money??? From what I've seen on the Edited version on CN, it looks like a really good series. What do other members think?

If you liked what you saw on Toonami, it's very likely you'll be glad you got the DVDs. I do not have any episodes, BTW. I'm just going off my gut feeling.

I HIGHLY reccomend that you buy the series on dvd. Not only is it soooooo good unedited but you can get 9 eps for 40$!!!! That's a helluva bargain! (comic book guy voice from the simpsons) "Highly collectible, buy two."

Definately get them. Go here: http://www.escaflowneonline.com/os/ and you can see the insane amount of stuff cut out. See the REAL Outlaw Star and buy the DVDs.

I unfortunetly don't have a DVD player. :bawling: Is it just as good to get the series on VHS, unedited of course. From what i've heard, the VHS would cost something like $250! Is it worth that much? I really like it, but am having a hard time deciding.

Well, you always have the option of getting the VCDs, which are a lot cheaper. Of course there is only the sub version on VCD, and your computer would have to have a CD-ROM drive. I guess that I would be willing to buy the VHS for this series. It is a really good series. Just spread out the purchases.

frankly, it would be cheaper buying a dvd player and hook it up onto your computer/TV than buying the VHS.

If you don't have a DVD player, don't worry get it on VHS anyway. Don't go and buy a DVD player just for OS. And by the way, since most anime on VHS is a 26 episode long season anyway they all cost that much money on averege, unless they have a really good episode per volume deal going. OS is only 2 per tape which sucks. You should get a dvd player anyway...

you can get the entire series on DVD for around $100 if you buy it online at places like buy.com where you get $10 + off.

Or you could buy the video tapes and end up paying $300 + for only subbed OR dubbed.

Thanks everyone. I just may go out and buy OLS. I liked what I saw and feel really appreciative to all. Arigato and Sayonara! (but only for a while;) )

Very true. In addition to that, DVDs last forever if you take care of them and don't let them get scratched up. Can you say that about VHS tapes? If you play VHS tapes too many times, they wear out and don't work, then you'll just have to buy another one to replace it. DVDs have
a) higher quality video
b) features that make it more interesting :D
c) they LAST.

Outlaw Star is the best series ever. It is totally worth the money to buy the DVD's and it's relatively reasonable by comparison to other shows because it's in three volumes of box sets. Cowboy Bebop is in six and Trigun is even more then that. OLS is really reasonable if you buy it I suggest you buy them from Amazon .com If you buy them together you only have to pay the shipping and handeling once 5.50 and its about 117 total but you get them in about three or four days and if you go to buy them at a store like best buy they usually have to order them any way:D
