View Full Version : Norman Burg
Now I don't know about you guys, but I would love to know more about Norman's past. He just seems like a very intersting fellow. BUt since we propably won't get any answers, at least not for a long time. How about everyone give their ideas of what Norman's past could be?

Maybe he Roger's father..
I think he has something to do with the creation of the Megudeuses since he knows how to maintain the Big O. He may have been a part of Paridigm's destruction too, maybe even the leader OOoo that's so dramatic!!

I agree with EVA...I think he's one of the original engineers for the megadeus series. Otherwise, how would he know how to fix Big O after Rog bangs it up?
On a similar note....
My mom pointed this out and I have to agree. In the episode where Roger goes into battle and discovers he doesn't have any ammunition (I forget which one it is offhand), Norman apologizes for not restocking it. Okay...where the heck is a sweet (machine gun wielding) old man like Norman getting missiles?!? You can't exactly order them from Fingerhut or JcPenneys. :p If Alex Rosewater was so intent on controlling the city, I'd think he would have shut down most of the arms dealers, especially ones dealing in large explosives maybe?
Thinking about that maybe Norman's ex military!!! He knows how to keep things tidy, he cooks (like any single men can cook...HAH!), he knows how to use a machine gun, he drives like a madman (btw, that looks like a WWII era cycle he rides), and he obviously has impressive knowledge of *very* large firearms.
I know what he was. He was an ex-navey seal, that became a biker. And he has always had a desire to become a pirate. ;)
Actually both of your ideas sound really good. I can't wait to hear what other people have to say.

Going *completely* off topic for a moment, yes she does. ^_^ It started with Voltron when I was five and since I've been in college I've brought a different series home every semester. (she actually owns the copy of Escaflowne in the house, not me...she loves Big O...she thinks the subbed Sailor Moon is pretty funny...the only one she didn't like was Cowboy Bebop because Ed gave her a headache). And she got me the vcd's of Fushigi Yuugi for my birthday later this month. So sure we don't always agree but at least I've got a pseudo-otaku mom.
Back to Norman...I wonder why an elegible bachelor like him never married?? He's sort of a cute older man...well excluding the eye patch *argh matey!* Maybe Roger IS his son.

Well, I think the reason that Norman never found someone is because he spends all of his time keeping Roger from becoming a complete mess. I mean can you imagine how bad Roger would be without Norman.

back to that amunition comment, i think it would be possible to make your own missiles and shells, as long as you know how to make them... it isn't really too difficult as long as you have the right equipment.... also, i think Norman was some type of Green Beret or Commando... i loved that scene when the cat was cat-napped and Norman whipped out that huge M60!!! that was amazing!!!!!!!!!! :vader:
