New FLCL Thread...

The old thread got a bit long and complicated......So, until Eva2000 makes a FLCL forum *REMIND REMIND REMIND*, here's a new thread for discussion and chit chat.

I have the oppurtunity to buy the Ground Work of FLCL art book for AU$90-$100. I think it's worth it and will most likely get it if I can find some money :heh:. What do other fans think?

Anyone know the release date for the FLCL DVDs, or is it still "To Be Announced"?

Right now I think Synch Point is kind of tied up with releasing Tenshi Ni Narumon, but I don't know why they didn't release FLCL first! I mean, I'm sure TNN is good and all, but it's a genre show and FLCL transcends genre! And I've only seen up to OVA 2 and I have no idea what happened after that!:mad: :mad:

And if the Groundwork of FLCL book looks anything like the Groundwork of Eva books, then I'd say go for it:).

Well, the thing with that is that....It's an OVA.

There may be a new OVA series or movie announced for FLCL at a showing of it in Japan coming up, however.

Apart from the obvious, > Animation quality, > Length and what not,,,, I can’t really say that, any one has given / I've seen, a meaning for the word Ova ,,

OVA-Original Video Animation
OAV-Original Animation Video

Both mean the exact same thing, except some companies call OVA's OAV's (like Viz Video).

OVA's are anime that were released to video stores in Japan without being aired on television. Thus the legnth is usually shorter than a TV series, but there are long OVA's too. Unlike in other parts of the world, the direct-to-video market in Japan is actually respectable.

FLCL is indeed an OVA.

The coolest thing I've sen so far was a 1:1 scale model of Canti... But that was for a promotion and you can't actually buy it... I'm going to break into Gainax and steal it though...

FLCL has one of the coolest anime soundtracks
heavy metal + jpop = OH YEAH

Anyway I bought the first soundtrack, Addict on eBay and I noticed that it does not have ALL the songs, most noticably the song during the fight scene at the end of episode 6. Are there any other FLCL soundtracks? If so I... must.... buy....

I saw on CD Japan a reference to a second OST. But, that's all it was, a reference...A mention...A comment. No other info to date. But, I will buy it as soon as it's avalible.

well i must say, the canti figure is going on my wish list, along with pretty much everythign else... gotta dl the sound track now,.. ^^ >_> oh and where can i get those manga scans? erm... heh ^^
