Where did the girls from Bubblegum Crisis get their suits from???
Did they get them from the Government???
Or did they make them themselfs???
If they did make them themselfs, how come the big organiations can't make boomers as good as the suits

They were designed by the person that leads the operation, I think her name is Syllia Stingray. They were then manufactured to these specifications by someone else can't remember his name at the moment. The boomers aren't as good because the ones building them aren't as good as the one who designed the suits for the Knight Sabers.

If I remember correctly, Sylia's father actually designed them... or maybe it was someone else, but I recall seeing in OAV 3 that she received the plans from someone else and then brought those plans to fruition. I don't know who made them though.

i think its sylias father cause dont u remember when he left her a tape and it showed all the specs for the armor and all. but i have no clue where she got the funds and materials to make the armor :D

i think sylia's father "designed" them persay, but she was the one that actually made them, and whatever other enhancements. ano ... it wasn't really clear in the oavs however :(. well, it wasn't clear to ME at least ...

Your all wrong the only thing that Dr. Stingray designed was the V.O.M.E.R technology that is in the suits, the souit were actualy created by Nigel a mechanic whom is the last surviver of Dr. Stingrays research team. As for Syllia she was the model for the suits, they were made specially to fit her measurments.

I think people are getting BGC 2032 and BGC2040 confused these are completely different series there is no tie in whatsoever. In 2040 you're right Nigel builds the suits that Sylia designs and her father played no part in it (he was more evil). Where as in the original series Sylias father sent her a data disk that clearly had some prototype pictures of the hard suits, they show on screen. She builds them with the help of Dr whose last name I cant think of but Priss kept calling him Gramps. Sylia did more work on the suits though and he specialised in the motorbikes etc.

I'm with Ura there. In the old one Sylia "downloaded?" the info from the disks. That had info on all the technology her daddyo had.

I just saw episode 15 of 2040, and I'm beginning to get the story. Nigel builds the suits yes, but I dunno if Sylia or her father actually designed them.

I want to see more or 2040 darnit! It's getting really really interesting now!

hmmm.... this is interesting, in the original series BGC 2032, Sylias father professor Stingray had developed very advanced prototypes of a new type of combat "hard suit"... it seems that he was at odds with Genom his employer in regards to these suits, and thus had an "accident". Just before his demise, though, he sent to his daughter a disk of what looked like design specs for his new suits... (she looked about 12 at the time). Now jump about 15 years ahead... and you have Sylia running a clothing boutique (as cover) with an underground base/research facility used to create and upkeep BGC's hardsuits!

Questions that pop up:

1. How does Sylia make use of the data?
2. Where does she get the money for the consequent R&D?
3. How does she keep all of this a secret?

... and one more thing to make you pull out your hair...

the original series hinted to the fact that Sylia (and Largo) were actually advanced prototypes themselves of a new class of hybrid ... a type of bioroid. or living synthezoid! i.e. an artificially created living organism based upon the human template with superior abilities.

... Now enter the new series... I have only seen the first few episodes, but it seems really different. Is there any pretense to following the "old universe" or is this an alternate reality??

i dunno if sylia is a bioroid, i think shes 100% human or so i think.maybe mackey knows thats why he always try ta peep at her. well if u seen some bgc you'll see an oldman that mackey hangs with, and i think he was the one that helped sylia out and the hard suits, and she keeps it a secret by using hella money to keep ppl to shut up i think :D

Nigel, the mechanic at "K's" and ex-member of the late Dr. Stingray's research team designed and buil the hardsuits for an 18 year old Sylia's body. She also recruited two more people (A young American and a martial artist) to join the Knight Sabers. Their minds weren't properly suited to the hardsuits and thus they couldn't operate them properly (Seeing as the hardsuits are actually boomers and they operate on very sophisticated technology)and they actually ended up getting killed by boomers. Nene, Priss and Linna end up mastering the hardsuits and kicking ass so nyah.

sylvia hires a guy that works for genom to make the hard suits...i forgot his name..oh yes, nigel. the hardsuits work sort of like boomers, it uses their technology. This is stated in the early episodes (i think between 8-10) when sylvia has a meeting with a spy of some sort

So how much of 2040 do you think was given away in this thread alone?

To answer one question, 2032 and 2040 are almost COMPLETELY different. I don't think that the makers of 2040 tried to follow the old story line at all. Before I started watching 2040 I was told that it followed the same story, but that it just started before 2032 and ended after, clearing up all loose ends. I WAS LIED TO. After watching almost all of 2040 believing this my friend lent me 2032 and I discovered that the two series have very little in common as far as story line, character attitude, some characters in general.

As far as the suits are concerned, near as I can tell in 2032 they were made by that Dr /Gramps guy who works in the auto shop with Mackie, but Sylia makes all the adjustments to them. The Dr /Gramps also does repairs to them. Everything gets paid for by the outrageous sums of money that the girls make from the jobs that they take.

In 2040, the concept of the suits were designed by Dr. Stingray, Sylia's father, for a teenager Sylia, but Nigel, who worked under Dr. Stingray before the quake, now has completely designed the model. Sylia is also a brilliant physicist who helps in the design and maintenance of the suits. She mainly deals with the core. Mackie also helps later with the suits maintenance and the design of the new suits because of his special abilities to communicate with machinery, due to the fact that he is a boomer.

Unfortunately there is something mentioned about not being able to use the suit when a girl is "impure" or her core becomes "impure" or something to that effect which may or may not have to do with her period, they don't get too clear on that one. That's why it's dangerous for Sylia to use her suit, she's getting too old for it. I'm not positive about this whole paragraph of info, but that's what I got out of the one episode that they discussed it.

The new suits were designed and built by Mackie and Nigel, much to the surprise and happiness of the girls. I get the feeling that the Mackie from the 2032 would have liked these suits much more than the old ones because the girls have to get completely naked in order to wear them, no inner suit.

I think that I covered everything. I'll write again if I figure something out later that no one else has posted.
