I'm not positive about this but I believe it's still on the air in Japan... They're up to about 38-40 episodes...
This is what I was able to find... I don't know how reliable it is...

(Edit: This might be more reliable... http://www.animedaisuki.com/latest_anime/oa-inuyasha-0010.htm)
Thx :)

The planned number of episodes is 90, and a movie has recently been released called 'The Love that Transcends Time'. Currently, I think the anime is in its second series (because of the two different beginnings, although there are three different endings). The movie looks good!

Is Inu-Yasha still going?
How many manga volumes are there in Japan?
Is the manga still running?
Has Viz released about 13 volumes?
There is the Inu-Yasha movie, A Love that Transcends Time. I heard there are plans for a second? yes, no?

I'll answer what I know jennwenn

Is Inu-Yasha still going? about 86 fansubbed, and it's still going good. They'll get around 100 for sure, the present arc has enough juice in it for that much. Beyond that it's anyone's guess. Last time I checked Mangas still weren't done.
There is the Inu-Yasha movie, A Love that Transcends Time. I heard there are plans for a second? yes, no? The movie has been subbed by Uptown anime, a crappy cam so I haven't bothered to watch it. The second movie was anounced ages ago and should already have been in theaters across J-land. Well that or it's comming round Christmas.
For more info check this link (http://animeboards.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=537584506#post537584506) the site should have been updated. On a side note, how good is your Japanese ? ^_^
Let me know if you find out something new !

its definately still on the air here, but last monday they put on a baseball game instead of my double of inuyasha and conan :(
if someone can tell me what number they:re up to here i:d be pretty gratefull. the television doesn:t seem to want to tell me.
its the 2nd movie coming out in japan these winter holidays, called "‹¾‚Ì’†‚Ì–²Œ¶joo/kagami no naka no mugenjoo" ( which translates to something like "the fantasy/dream castle inside the mirror". i:m going to go see it with my host sister. :D

Too much Inu-Yasha! I'll never get to see it all!
My Japanese? Oh not very good since I don't actually live in Japan. I've studied it for about 4 weeks in college now though.

You could try one of those translating web pages, although they only really help you get a general idea of what the site is talking about.
Some of the "translations" come out very funny too....
BabelFish is good:

Actually Nagha theres a 2 disc dvd rip of the first Inuyasha Movie available now. Theres no way known I'm going to dl that but I might be getting that off a friend on cd.
The only complaints I've heard about it (well I have no idea how accurate the t/l is) is that the subs are a bit too small.
All I know is that Ayumi Hamasaki's No More Words is an excellent song and is from that movie apart from that i have no idea what the movie is about.

*throws out line into vast sea of fansubbers*
Thx Wes, I'll see if I can get the movie and post some stuffins about it.
Hmm, VHS and a SSHQ 2 parter..
If anyone's wondering if they have the DVDrip I'd say the bytesize is: 545.044.480 for part one and 559.181.824 for part two. Heh, I even think I didn't break one single rule here too ^_^. (VHS is 647.477.248)
