I found an AMV on the net the other week ... Love Hina set to Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag. Ive never seen any Love Hina, but the AMV caught my eye. I want to learn more about this anime, but when I went searching for Info on the net all I could find were Brazilian sites (as you do) ... who has links to good fan sites or places I could find general info?

Reminded me of Oh My Goddess ...

Well until someone gives me a link, we can discuss it here. Is there eps, movies, manga, or a combination of all three? What do people generally think of it? (That is, Eva has a reputation of being phycological, deep, blah blah). How long is it? Whats it like - is my first impression of similar to OMG correct?

It's basically a shounen romance(love)/comedy. I haven't seen Ah My Goddess yet, so I can't compare. Some elements remind me or Tenchi or Ranma, but it's still original in it's own way.

These links below are the better english Love Hina sites I've found so far. Instead of giving you a description of it, check out the sites.

Btw, I love this series. :D

Edit: Oh, almost forgot. The series contains 24 episodes, an OAV, and two specials. The chronology is: 1-24, Christmas special, 25(OAV), Spring special. It's only in Japan right now, but it's slated for American release sometime early to mid next year (2002).

The manga is up to volume 12 and most of volume 13 right now in Japan. The bilingual version is at about 6-8 or something like that, I can't quite remember right now. Note that the bilingual versions contain less chapters in each volume.

Literally....

"Love" refers to a childhood promise to attend Tokyo university with a childhood sweet heart.

"Hina" refers to a location. Abbreviated from "Hinata Sou" which is the name of an Inn which has been converted into a girls dorm.

(Just stating the obvious)

And what exactly is obvious about this? I find your explanation cryptic and confusing.

Sorry Instrumentality,

It was a literal resonse to your question, "What's a Love Hina?"
That's what's obvious about it. (Which makes it a bit of a joke too.) :p

Yeah, I was being a bit cryptic. But don't want to spoil your fun be revealing the plot too much. It is a great series to watch without alot of prior knowledge.

Love Hina is somewhat like romantic comedies such as Oh My Goddess, Maison Ikkoku, and Here's Greenwood. :inlove: It is unlike them in that it has a really manic pace. :smash:  :smash: So you can think of it as a romance that won't put you to sleep.

Hope this is more helpful.

Oh ... of course.

Promise-location is grammatically obscure however. This Naru looks so much like Belldandy, it has the Hot springs from Tenchi, and the manic pace from ... shall we say Kodomo No? Or not that manic?

The first link was what I was looking for. Thanks oppa. Wallpapers and Winamp skins can wait till I've cultivated a healthy obsession. Now I want to know about release information ... It appears to have been recently licensed? Not released in the US yet? I dont suppose there is an Australian release date?

"Whats a Love Hina"..... is that suppose to be a cute rip of "Whats a Goku" ?....

But anyways... yea you've noticed that Love Hina incorporates a lot of elements from other series (just as other series before LH have done before it came). As for an Australian release date... wish i could have been of some help. Theres always the HK stuff if you want it that bad or you just dl some fansubs (thats if you dont' want to wait for the commercial release for your region).... As for reviews.... as good as they are they are always they usually have some sort of bias put into them.... its always best to watch a show for yourself and form your own opinion about it. But then again thats just an opinion as well. :heh:
