I think he'd keep dreaming about it because the little girl who gave it to him got waxed right after, and that he failed to protect her with the agri-tractor thing.

Um and here's a couple of spoilers...







It shows up again at the end of the series. That said, I don't think the orange really signifies anything. Its just one of those fruits that easy to share (ie you can split it apart with your hands). Oh and she doesn't get waxed...... But, that's all I'll say for now.

He did give her the orange. Akito had a case of oranges and he offered one to Ai.
