hey,how about posting the best anime dubbs around. Here is my list.
1.Cowboy Bebop(an extremely seamless dubb)
2.Evangelion
3.kiki's delivery service
4.princess mononoke
5.grave of the fireflies
6.Gundam Wing
7.Samurai X OVAs(ADV almost nailed that dubb)
8.LAIN
9.Trigun
10.Macross Plus
11.Ninja scroll
and are(in my opinion) the worst dubbs:
1.X-the movie(absolutly horrible)
2.angel cop
3.Utena
4.the new DBZ dubb
5.the new Sailor moon dubb
6.vampire hunter D
7.Card captor Sakura(i hate kero-chan's voice)
Yeah I agree with most of your list but I also liked the Tenchi, Ranma and Evangelion Dubs, they are very loyal to the original script and are appropriate to the characters.

Well, I'm not much of a dubb fan, so I havn't seen that many dubbed series. Evangelion was good, as was Wings of Homminaise. Ghost in the Shell was passable.
I've just got my hands on the Golden Boy dubbs...Not too good, but it is fun to pick out the Eva voices. So far I've heard Asuka and Misato, and bugger me if that isn't Gendo in the Noodle shop

And it seems that Ritsuko was a swimming instructor before she became Dr. Akagi, Chair-person of E Project

Well, of the dubbed anime I've seen, the best would be:
1. Ranma 1/2
2. Maison Ikkoku
3. Evangelion
4. Slayers (OAVs an' Movies)
5. Ah! My Goddess
an' the worse would be:
1. Dragonball
2. Sailor Moon
3. Evangelion
Of course, those were in no particular order, an' Eva's on both lists 'cause of Shinji's dubb va *shudder* and 'cause of. . . because everyone seems to like the dubb.

 In Spanish..?? That must be weird...Iīve seen a few non-anime movies in Spanish (I studied Spanish for five years) and I think itīs kinda annoying to listen to sometimes...no offense!
well, I also liked the Evangelion dubb, I thought it was quite good.
I havenīt seen that many original Japanese versions of animes īcause itīs kinda hard to find here but i try, but most of the time I think the dubbs are okay anyways...

Actually, I have to say that it's been my experience that dubs in Spanish are MUCH better than dubs in English for some reason.
The English dubs I like are Trigun (they really picked a good voice for Vash) and Tenchi. I actually like Tenchi better in English than Japanese. The worst dub ever has to be Ranma. It's my favorite series, but the English voices are impossible to put up with. It's much better in Japanese and Spanish.

Hey I'm a new user. I think the best anime dub ever is Evangelion... Shinji actually sounds better in the English dub IMHO. The Princess Mononoke dub is also really good...

The Akira french dub is really good. But the french DBZ dub sucks so much. As for english dubs, the only dubs i have are Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell, wich i bought when i started to be into anime
Shade: I only have my fansubbed edition of Gundam Wing to go by. I'm still waiting for my Ops 1 & 2 DVDs to arrive :(
But yeah I have heard good things about the English dub

Spanish anime dubs ARE better than English dubs :)
I've seen Sailor Moon & DBZ in English, and I'm sorry but they're terrible!!! A really, really good English dub is Evangelion, really the greatest English dub I've ever seen. On Ranma, I have to agree w/ Asuza, the voices in English are awful (I canīt stand Akane).

Oni_chan: Don't you think (maybe it's just me)that all the characters in Ranma sound like drunken surfers? I HATE that! The only decent voices are Kuno and to some extent Shampoo, but all the Tendos and Saotomes sound so BAD!! I have the way they pronounce Saotome too. Like Sau-toe-may. UG!!!
I guess that with Dubs it comes down to association. Ranma and Evangelion were the first series that I had seen as Dubs before seeing as Subtitled releases, so I guess thats why they sound right to me, some of the voices are a bit cringe worthy I guess but i'd rather watch Ranma Dubbed than Subbed and thats something you'd rarely hear me saying

The worst dubs in the world have got to be cantonese dubs...they have the advantage of being produced much more quickly than english ones, but the significant disadvantage of sounding like the dub company pulled in a couple of ppl off the street to do the voices into a dictaphone ^^;

Ummm...
Porco Rosso and Princess Mononoke dubs are really good.
Worst Dub...Vampire Princess Muyo. I couldn't even understand what they were saying. It was muffled, and the character's voices didn't suit the characters.

That's so true!!! I have some GT in cantonese, and it's awful!!
Asuza: yes , the voices are awful!!! I really, really hate Akane's voice. And Mousse, *snif*, he sounds really bad too.

Ha, this is funny, I just got done with a mammoth dubbing post in Eva chit chat-so for that reason I won't go into Eva here....
Best Dubs:
Cowboy Bebop: I agree, really seamless. I love the guy who does Spike, the japanese voice is cool too but I like the sexier interpretation of the character:)
Serial Experiments Lain: I've been hearing that voice actress in everything from this to Perfect Blue to Fushigi Yuugi, but what can I say, the dub was exactly what the original sounded like except in English.
Ghost In the Shell: Yes, I am the only one who would pick this, but I prefer Kusanagi's English voice ten to one over her Japanese voice. There are enough high pitched Megumi-Hayabishara soundalike characters out there, Kusanagi sounded like she would chew you up and spit you out, and the voice went much better with her kind of manly character design
Oh! My Goddess: All the characters pretty much matched, and after seeing the first episode subbed and then getting the rest dubbed, I came to the conclusion that the English Keichi was better than the original...much more like the character I knew and loved in the manga.
Worst dubs:
Card Captor Sakura: AAAAACK! It's not even the dubbing in this one that bothers me that much really, it's how they've cut up and repackaged a show that had no objectionable content to begin with, just to emphasize Li's part so the Pokemon fans will feel justified in buying the merchandise. Goddamit!
Uh, that's about it I guess. Fushigi Yuugi is really good in the Tamahome department and really bad in the Miaka department so it kind of evens out, and I'm sorry y'all but I'm kind of partial to the Ranma dub. True, I'm not a huge Ranma fan so that's probably why the dub's inconsistencies don't bother me, but Kuno is hysterical, as is Ryouga, boy-Ranma is cute and Akane is just so....spunky? I don't know, but my Dad fell in love with her at first site and said he probably wouldn't like her with some helium swilling japanese voice but he just thinks her English voice is perfect...heh, maybe you need to be a middle aged man:)

I have no problem watching subbed anime. Some people say reading and watching at the same time makes you miss things...I say it gives me a reasonable excuse to watch them all over again!
A friend of mine bought one of those CD deals on Ebay for the DBZ episodes and movies. Listening to the actual music and the voices brings something out of the episodes that the American versions just don't have. Especially when Vegita gets pissed and starts swearing.
I guess that is what really makes an anime rise above the others...the voices getting just as animated as the graphics. That said, most English voice actors don't seem to understand the importance of how they sound. I understand translating is a bitch, particularly with slang terms and names, and it doesn't help when the dialogue is hacked to 'protect the impressionable kiddies,' but dammit, I'd like to slap the jackass who did Freeza'a voice.

The Mononoke Hime french dub is the best i've heard so far. But of course as much of a fan i am, i wanna get both the translated version and the original japanese version of it(available at animenation for just a bit more costly than a translated one)

Well I know a lota people don't like dub, but I usually take my chances with 'em. There's nothing worse than a bad dub, but then again, there's nothing better that a dub done beautifully. An example of this would have to be the Heroic Legend of Arslan (Arslan Senki). Could the voices be anymore articulate and beautiful?! ^_^ The accents the VAs were an nice touch, not to mention the excellent translation (If I could equate the way it sounded with anything it would have to be those old epic movies like Spartacus). Anyway, part of the reason Arslan is my all time fav anime is beacause it has such a wonderful dub. So yeah, that would have to be my fav ^^ If you haven't seen it, please do! You wont be sorry.

Not an anime, but japanese... I'd have to say that the dub for Monkey Magic (the live action show) was truly inspired :D The best dub I have ever heard, full stop :D

Ramna 1/2 was the first dub I ever saw, so I didn't think it was that bad. I've seen both versions, and I like them both. I also like Tenchi dubbed because I think Ryoko's VA's pretty cool (Tenchi's voice is annoying though). Plus, Tenchi's the only dub I've heard that the Japanese names are pronounced very good! Princess Monoke surprised me with it's dub because I thought it was great. Gundam Wing's not bad either.
I think Card Captor Sakura's dub sux EIGHT butts! Kero-chan sounds like a pirate, SakOOHra sounds like a whiny brat, "Madison" sounds like a lost "Clueless" cast member, and "Jullian"...::shivering violently::
I'm not fond of the Slayers and Fushigi Yuugi dub either...

Lain! lain is the best dub i have ever seen. i also like the gundam wing dub (lady une's voice is awesome!) and tenchi. also, Sakura Wars. the worst, by far, is Cardcaptors. I mean, they even changed the title. and a close second being sailor moon.

yeah i agree
COWBOY BEBOP IS THE GREATEST DUB EVER
cowboy bebop is the only dub i have ever seen that actuall 'adds' quality to the audio, its even better than the japanese version i think...
why?
ex: when mao is talking to a member of a rival gang, in the japanese version, all you hear is the conversation, in the dub however, you can actually hear the reverbration of mao's voice in the wide open room! the dub actuall ADDs quality to the audio by enhancing the sounds of the enviornment. this is just one example
and of course the dub voices are stellar, i like spikes english voice a lot more than the jap one!!!
escaflowne and gundamw are good dubs too but dont go as far as bebop, basically any dub by bandai's anime village is good
the mononoke dub is great too! i'd probably give it number2 next to bebop...
COWBOY BEBOP FOREVER!!!

Ack! I just saw Perfect Blue dubbed (that is the STRANGEST anime movie I've ever seen)! N-E way, talk about a bad dub! I've never seen the original version, but the voices in the dub were so annoying!
I'm surprised you say that Oas... many people (sub fans too) consider that one fo the best dubs ever done. Anyway, my fav dub is still Eva, they nailed Gendo's voice for that role.
I'm surprised no one's brought up Ursei Yatsura (sp) as a worst dub, I may love dubs but *shudder*
