I was looking through Best Buy last week and stumbled across the Akira DVD. I know that there is a special edition, which I saw in a best buy catalog thing that comes in the newspaper. The special edition comes with that black cover right? The one I saw on the shelves, had Akira I believe on a motorcycle. Is the one I saw on the shelves also SE? I'm not sure.

The one you saw on the shelf was not the SE. The SE comes with a black cover.

I heard that the DVD's were hard to remove from the cover... But the black metal cover looks good compared to the one with the motorcycle.

There are two versions of the special edition, the tin case one and the normal case one, so the one you saw was the special edition complete with both DVDs but not the tin version

...so says Jesmaster

Myes, they are....which is why I keep them in separate DVD cases. The tin box basically sits on my shelf, lookin' mighty fine.

I haven't encountered any problems with removing the DVD's from the tin so far.....,

Actually, you might want to be careful, just in case. My roommate got the SE tin edition, too, but when he tried to remove the dvd, it cracked a little.
