I thought it was a refreshing change from neo-tokyo or ancient times. Finally one that is set in contemporary society [but did it have to be in the US? :p ]

Maybe it´s a hidden message: "Just look at the decadent and crime-ridden west, HAHAHAHAH !!". Or maybe he thought of movies like "The Untouchables" with Chicago as a capital of crime.

Well it was in Chicago in the Manga First. And Kenichi Sonoda (creater) said that because of infulence of Films like the "French Connection" and "Blues Brothers" he decided to set it in America. And the fact that Japan has a strong Gun Law is another factor. And when you think of Guns and Violence in America you think of two places. New York (recent) and Chicago (Past). So he chose Chicago.

That would explain whay the TV credits show all this biz about the driver for the car, etc. when obviously you don't need all that stuff for an *animated* show :P

Kenichi is actually obsessed with the Cobra and CZ75
What place would be better for rally and may to fight crime anyways? well maybe california since it has more criminals... (whoa whoa whoa no offense to anybody who lives there or likes ca!)

Yes, But Chicago is known for it's crime, while Californa isn't. That's why I think it perfect for it to be set in Chicago.
Yeah, I agree on the Chicago was the best place to set it idea. From the script you could see 1 or 2 references to the Capone era. Like the Elliot Ness remark.

What type of car do they drive on the steering wheel? The right or left side of the road?

Okay, you know how in most American Mangas… They flip it the the acustom Western way… now also only in america, they drive of the left side of the road with the streeing wheel on the left… So…-I was wondering if the artists already compansated for that and the american manga threw it out of wack…

Nope, Sonoda doesn't change it though he probably should have because Gunsmith Cats has finished its run. Of course that might be a side affect of the mirror imaging.
Probably. It would be easy enough to check

Alright… Simplified… Which side of the car is the steering wheel on?The Left or the Right?
the steering wheel on rally's car is on the left, here's proof.
when they're chasing radinov to get minnie may back, becky winds down HER window as they pull up in the gutter lane next to radinov for rally to shoot thru;)
Yep. I remember that.
Also that ep when radinov is driving in the wrong lane causing Rally to go op onto the embankment.
