Anyone else seen it. It has to be one of the funniest series I've seen in ages and I'm only up to Episode 5. I think ADV is releasing it soon *fingers crossed*

Well can someone just explain to me what Pedro has to do with anything? I can't work it out. Its hilarious but why is he sufferring in every episode?

I have seen Excel Saga eps 1-18 and the show only gets better as it goes along

The whole Pedro thing is a completely other side story which has little to do with the main story although they do cross now and then, Pedros stroy takes more shape in the later episodes... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ADV is releasing Excel Saga, they are aiming for Febuary next year because the dubbing and subbing of this series is going to be an insane project

lol, trying to english voice dub Excel Sage is not only insane, its a crime cos I know they'll ---- it up.

Yeh Excel Sage is great, it's the second parody I know of from that company. It takes the ---- outta everything, even 'The Matrix' and 'Titanic' hehe. I'm not sure what is up with Pedro's suffering, I have only seen eps 8-18.

shame it's licensed.. I am gonna have to wait decades for more now.

I have a thing against anime that is cruel towards animals... I have mixed feelings about her trying to eat that... dog... or cat... cute, thing... The plot absolutely makes no sense, yet the animation is top notch.

Excel reminds me of Kenny from south park. hehe.

yeah I've seen 1-18 as well... It one that you simply can not stop laughing! I mean frick... later on like eps 15 er whaddever... when they are assigned to come to america! that one is soooo great cause they bash americans!!! whoop whoop... not only americans... but the anime freaks like us!

the way each episode chooses one subject and tears it apart is awesome!!! I can't wait till my friend can download the whole thing... but all anyone can ever find is up to 18!!!

The dub cast has been posted on various message boards.......Jessica Calvello is playing Excel. That's all I remember though....

The first ep. was funny, but if the America bashing is really prominent then it may color my feelings toward this series a little...whenever racism/anti-americanism/whatever pops up in entertainment, it kind of upsets me because It's like I've paid them money so they could insult me.

I understand the backlash against political correctness, but lately I've come across several people who think it's okay to use racial slurs in like because they take shows like South Park totally at face value, which is a little disturbing to me....

Still, looking forward to this series to be released stateside.

Rest assured Yui that there is no American bashing. What happens is Excel goes to America to study Americans, but she doesn't know english. The only things she knows is insults (which is the first thing most of us learn in new languages). So she's like: "Your mother is a pig" and stuff like that. Then the focus character for that episode comes along and saves her from the people she's just insulted.

In that episode, Excel tells the audience the advantages of Anime and American animation and why both are valuable art forms and such.

As for u Nairohe, it's not animal cruelty, it's funny ^^. Menchi is a female dog, and thus far has no been eaten, and doesn't seem to mind Excel as much as before. Menchi even voluntarily returns to Excel and doesn't kill her though it has a massive mini-gun.

It's a parody on how all anime have those cute little pets: PenPen and Ryo-Ohki are the only 2 pet names I can remember, but every series has em. Even cowboy Bebop has a dog!

Off-topic, but I think they've been picking more and more outlandish animals for mascots these days.........I don't know the name of the show, but one anime now has a ferret as the mascot. At least, I THINK it's a ferret.

I don't mind anything in good taste, in moderation, what have you, so I'm sure I will probably just laugh my ass off at that ep. like everyone else^_^. I do remember in the next ep. preview for episode 2 Excel says "Boy am I glad I took that English class, I made a few friends and about 3 billion enemies!" Although, I think Excel would probably get that response wherever she went.............
