Who would win? Think carefully... out of all the characters we've seen in the manga and in the anime... who do you think would win in an all out no holds bar match?

Honestly.... I think Hild would easily kick anyones ass. I mean... she is the current top ranking demon in hell ya know.... Even Peorth quaked with fear at the mere site of her. Even Bell-chan can't stand up to her :eek: And if you think about it, shes also Urds Mom! Talk about Power! Shes got more ornaments on her restraining her power then anyone else! Bell chan only has a single earring that holds her power back while Hild has lots holding her full potential back. I wonder if we will

Ever wonder what the almighty would look like? I mean we know that there are guys who are angels and all.... and we know that Hild is the Head Demoness in Hell... You think the Allmighty is a Woman? I mean yea, we've heard the voice in the anime and its a guy an all, but i think it would be an interesting twist if Fujishima Kosuke made the Allmighty a woman. What do you think Falinah?

i think it would really be very interesting if the Almighty is a woman.... girl power! hehe... :D i would definitely like to see that.

anyway, most powerful..... its gotta be Hild and next to her, maybe, Urd (??). :D

ooohhh...now that'd certainly be a twist!! hhhmm...from what you do see of him ( possibly her ) ,the almighty doesn't really appear to be all that manly...but all in all, the idea just might be too complicated to be true...it makes sense that Fujishima would try for more of an equal gender balance when it comes to such powerful people

Back on topic. If ever crossed over with any to all other anime worlds, the leads of Oh My Goddess are probably the mightiest non-DBZ characters in Anime next to Kinomoto Sakura.

Oh, wow, so much ranting to do, so little time...

... just kidding! Belldandy would not approve of ranting.

I'll just number my points to make this easier for me:

1. The almighty is male. We saw his silhouette during Terrible Master Urd when he said he had to guard Yggdrasil or some such excuse for letting Belldandy do his dirty work for him.

2. NOWHERE, and I do mean NOWHERE, does it even imply in the anime, manga or movie that the Almighty is the father of the goddesses. Well, Bell-chan does say "father" in the English dub, but that's a mis-translation. In the original Japanese she says Kami-sama. Not saying that he can't be the father, there's just no indication anywhere that he is.

3. As for how the goddesses stack up against other anime characters, they'd clean the clocks of anybody I can think of at the moment. Why? Well, because they can't really be hurt by anyone from any series, not probably even Washuu/Tsunami/Tokimi from Tenchi Muyo. Also, since their major attacks redefine the universe locally, they can't be defended against by anything that exists in this universe. They're at least 10-dimensional beings whose 3-dimensional forms are created for our benefit since they wouldn't be detectable otherwise, so you're wasting your time attacking in 3-space. Heaven doesn't even exist in this universe or any of its associated parallel universes/pocket dimensions/etc. Sigh, this is taking too long. I'll start a new thread on this. *makes mental note to finish "Megami Tech Notes" RealSoonNow.*

4. Um, what was the topic of this thread, again? Oh, yeah! Well, considering that Belldandy says that Devil Urd (when Urd was split into good/evil halves) would be the most powerful demon ever because of her link with Yggdrasil, I would say that the Almighty has an edge over Hild. This also jives with Norse mythology, where it's obvious that the Aesir (gods) could have wiped the floor with the Frost Giants (demons) if only they had attacked while Loki and Fenris were still bound. Still, Hild is definitely not someone to be trifled with. Here's how I'd rank them:

Almighty
Hild
Urd (not as skilled as Bell-chan, but much more powerful in the raw firepower department, even before she was able to call World of Elegance)
Welsper (before he was demoted)
Belldandy/Peorth/Mara (they seem to be pretty evenly matched)
Skuld

Welsper is hard to place, since he is (was) very capable with high-powered magic, being able to hack Yggdrasil and to take out Peorth so easily. I still don't think he could top Urd, though, and I think that's why Fujishima made sure Urd was called back to Heaven before Welsper showed up. Besides, nobody but Urd could have held Yggdrasil together from Welsper's hack so she had to be there.
