Anyone seen Nadesico the Movie: Prince of Darkness?

Actually, despite having it on both vcd and dvd with english subs, I've never bothered watching it...Nadesico holds no interest for me ^^; So there you go, you're getting a mint copy.

Yeah, I've seen the movie but not the series so I was noticeably perplexed during it, I just got the first 10 episodes of the series so i'll have to sit down and watch them. It was pretty good I think from what little I could follow

I'm trying to get the series but can't get it...

The movie is great though...

But I don't understand the history of z-betron or something in the movie. I'm getting the series as quick as I could to understand the story of Nadesico.

Right, I just got my hands on the whole series so I know whats going on now, Nadesico is definitely being added to my DVD collection (if the overlays arent too bad, or ideally not present) I watched the film again and can actually follow the plot, I liket Gai the first robot pilot, all the Gekiganger references were good though lacking from the movie. I guess it would have detracted from Akitos seriousness

If you can, you should...It is well worth it. I have the series on VCD, but it is not sub titled, so I am going to attemted to sub it myself :D I'll be able to change the words to the way I like it :lol:

i saw it, it was not as funny cause they left out yurika until the end couple of seconds

IMO it was a great great movie. It wasn't as funny, I'll admit. It wasn't really funny at all come to think of it. It was a rather big contrast between the series and the movie, and the beginning of it kinda took me off guard.

But in general, I'd say to any nadesico fan it's a "must see." However, if you're a megumi fan, you won't see much of her at all ^_^

i bought the nadesico movie when i was about 3 episodes into the series.i was pretty confused at first,but after a few viewings i got a hang on the movies's plot.
i thought the movie was really good. i liked the new character designs(espacially Ruri's).the animation was top notch also,way better than the t.v. series.
the only thing that wasn't great was the movies sense of humor.it had about 3 funny scenes in it but that was about it.i was expecting a few more laughs then that since the series was so funny.oh well,the movie did have a more serious plot,however.
overall i was very happy with the way the movie turned out.

Humour often gets sacrificed in anime movies...no humour in the Kenshin movie...YUA movie didn't have as many laughs as the series...ditto for CCS and Nadesico. Mebbe after all the effort they make on the animation etc they think too much humour would lower the tone of it, or something :)

how the captain got into the controller from the series it looked like a really happy ending and this kind of took me by surprise, I still dont fully understand it

Yah, I was first taken aback when I saw the "funeral" for akito, yurika, and Ines. That kinda darkened my mood almost immediately :D. Then we find out how messed up akito is, and finally how yurika got stuck in the comp.

I read a review somewhere that said that many non-japanese fans may not understand the first 45 mins of so because the ideas were taken from another japanese movie (or two). So there ya go ^_^

I'm just wondering, why are there so many girls featuring in Nadesico? As I have seen the movie, some of the scenes show a dozen or a kazillion girls featuring in the movie.
