I really want to see this series because I've heard it kicks ass. Unfortunately, I'm having a little trouble...umm...aquiring it. Oh well, maybe the fansub fairy will leave them under my pillow tonight.

I really like Noir, though I've heard mixed reactions about it from different people. The music is very cool...the mix of opera and techno is definetly unique.

Think of a cross between the setting of "La Femme Nikita" and the characterisation of "Ruronin Kenshin: Memories OVA" but replace the Hitokiri Battousai with a callous, yet sad and pitiable sweet 14 year old girl.
I loved noir. The girls had great fashion sense.
Ass-kicking French chicks with guns. I loved it. The story doesn't really have much point to it other than their killing missions until quite a bit later on. Kind of like Trigun, which doesn't get serious until later on. I saw it all and it had one of the highest ratings for a show that showed that late. It was #1 durning the last few episodes.
you mean the plot starts to exist later on? boy am I glad to hear that!
Ive watched upto ep 10 so far and although the animation and music are above par, the plot has been pretty much absent and I have no emotional attachement to the two main characters.
But, I shall continue to watch it in hopes that it will improuve.
It's so-so... The plot is drawn out and boring and the characters are sub-par and you just can't relate to them...

Noir was GOOD. The music is GENIUS. But I wasn't feeling the characters as much as Evangelion/Trigun/Love Hina. I really couldn't get into them.
Anyone else expirience that?
i really really really really really love chloe. hows that?

I only watched the first 7 eps but I'm really starting to dig the story; their past.

I have to admit that characters weren't as easy to connect to as in Eva, but Eva is a masterpiece that no anime can really touch. However, as you continue watching more of Noir, you'll find yourself more able to understand the characters, especially if you go back over and watch them again. I've watched eps 1-9 around 7 times each, and I find that I can now appreciate all the characters more, especially Mireille and Kirika. I haven't seen enough of Chloe or Altena to comment on them.
But I like Noir a lot, from the moment I saw it. :)
I don't know if you're supposed to connect with the characters. The point is they are cold blooded killers. I went to the series in awe of that. There's pretty much no fan service. It's a series of cold blooded missions and in the end it all links together in a way.
I've found Noir is one of those series you either love it, or are well, indifferent to it.

I suppose you have a point, but I don't really consider Mireille and Kirika to be merely "cold-blooded killers". They have a lot of depth to them, and their actions have had some serious repercussions which have revealed their true feelings. Like in ep.6, Kirika felt pained to kill Nazarev, and hesistated before doing it. This clearly shows she has a conscience.
