walking along the dvd aisles (think that's how it's spelled:rolleyes: ), i came across an anime dvd case that struck my eye.
hmm...
niea 7. with some elf like character with toe puppets... cool!
looked on the back and yoshitaka aBe was listed as the director (or at least i think). the same aBe that created lain!
well, i still didn't get it since i'm kinda saving up money.
to anybody who's seen it: what are your impressions of this anime? good or bad?

I remember seeing an ad for it that mentioned it being about 'poverty' at some level, and the art style reminded me a bit of Gainax's FLCL. Considering that it's by the Lain team, it's probably at least pretty good, and at best an anime classic. One of these days I'll have to see it...............
haiya!!!
i've ewtched it...
it's created by the Lain team...
it's about 'poverty' and living with an alien and living here on this planet (i think)

I've only seen the first episode, but it seemed pretty cool.
The DVDs are already out in America?
I have and watched the first DVD just last week.
So far its a very light hearted show that is totally opposite of lain.
Its about a (very very) poor student living above a bath house and an alien lives in her closet whos name is Niea and her rank is under ( _ ) 7. So far for the first 4 eps it shows how the student (cant remember her name) is strugglin through life and how she gets by workin and such while have Niea around who doesnt care about anything but food. Aliens are common to everyone so its not like Niea is a secret that she keeps hiden. Good show so far, light hearted fun over all and good quality.

And just in case your like me and too lazy to click on the link, Heres what i posted
:D I picked up the first DVD last week.... visually very similiar to Lain (and very smooth and awesome in looks, colors, and design) but it does have its differences.... I'd agree that it is somewhat mellower then Lain.... I'm not sure where the series is going to end up at this point, but I like what i've seen thus far. I can't help but feel sorry for Mayuko with all the hassle she has to put up from Niea (those UFOs' of hers are something aren't they?)..... Anyone else have an opinion on what they've seen so far of this show?
