For me, the most surprising plot twist was when we found out that the evil robot-things where actually from earth... hell that was bad.

I think they are aliens who takes on human forms to not scare the living daylight out of Hibiki(you are referring to the people in the dreams like states of Hibiki, right?), I mean even in human form it confused Hibiki a lot.
As what happens to earth, they did say that earth resource where almost gone, thats the reason why they sent out colonial ships, the suprising part is that they instead of leaving earth chosed to stay on earth and thus undergoing all kinds mutation and that is where the Harvest is coming into play, where they see colonist as second skins as it where and probably organs harvest as well.

BUt i definatly like the way they did that. HOw earth is the bad guys for once. (Ok so it happens every now and again but not offen in an anime). BUt what i find interesting is the way that in the second last ep the messages that were sent are receved. Then deleated.

So the first generation already knows that the havesters are on the way. Jez the second series is gona rock!!

Thinking about it, one planet had the spines being harvested, another skin and I think that desert planet had blood being harvested. So mabye the spliting up of the Men and Wemon on the two planets we first see (can't remember their names) was intentonal. Mabye they wished to harvest unused gnitals or something?.

ummm.. I dont think the harvesting drones where after unused body parts... those spines where surely pretty damn well-used.

If you note, after the message is received from the Nirvana, "grandpa" and "Grandma" both delete the message immediatly... they know whats going on, as they are from the first generation of colonists.

On the skin planet, Everyone was drinking something that was making there skin stronger and better or something...... Come on If I knew something was trying to steal my skin I wouldn't be trying to make my skin prefect for them would I???

Also on all the planets it was happening

on the spine planet they made it there hole life to be ready for the taking or something (thus most likey making there spines prefect)

The blood one, well Can't back myself up but most likey....


Heck even those good old genatels were beening made prefect...... No sex, So they weren't getting used.............. (well weren't getting used for sex, don't know about anything esle...... and I don't plan to go there)..........

My main point is why sit there and make yourself prefect if you know your going to die???? The only planet that can get away with this is the spine planet... and that only cos they belived it was gods will....... and thats a big fishy....... Where was the small % of people who disbelived that? there are always people like that...........

There are quite a few possibility.

1. Genetically imprinted into their brains.
2. Drug induced obedience.
3. They where taught that way, like on Tarakuu and Meia. Remember the very first sequence of Vandread. Female = EVIL speech(Movie) :lol:
4. Fanatics, weird God worshipper thingy on the water planet.
5. Plain stupidity, again they are a bit dodgy.
I can't figure of any more, but I think you get the general idea, right?

well the aliens were able to mess with their minds. u know how a parent raises a child or something well its similar in a way, the aliens raise humans as cattle and raise them with undeveloped minds and stuff so they can take their organs

Yeah. The only one I don't get is the skin one, cause the spine planet, they thought that earth was a god or something, The genital planets believed the opisite sex was evil, but the skin people knew the enemy was after their skins. So????

oh, no clue i guess when they were raised by them they gotten so used to keeping there skin well kept its natural for them to do it

I guess. I wonder how many other planets there are like that? And exactly what Earth does with the parts. Graft them onto their own bodys? Any guesses people?

i think they use it to survive i dunno either. maybe in part 2 it'll clear it up for us. maybe they need them to reproduce and create more of themselves or they always need fresh new organs to survive or something. hmm number of planets can be a lot. there was already one planet that was left as a desert wasteland in one of the episodes and the planet where ppl gave up their spines. well if any remember rat bastart maybe he as answer since hes a farmer in a way ...
