hey everyone. I just got an EVA video for my birthday, and i secretly sneaaked to the place they bought it. It was 25 USD!!!!!!!!! wayyyy too much. Does anyone know where i can get a better deal? or is that a good deal already? You klnow what else? It's dubbed. I mean i appreciate it and all, but ur not supposed to get a dubbed video. anyways. Its Genesis 0:12. I'm starting to collect, but it's damn expensive!!!!! :redhot:

well happy birthday first :D

as for the $25 is that USA or Aussie dollars... i think it's an okay price but have seen places online charging $19.99 US dollars... excluding shipping and postage and handling costs.... so maybe $25 is cheap ?

Thanks man :B: . ok. hmmmmm, how much do u think shipping would be? maybe around 10USD or something or what?

I'd say that 25$ for a dubbed tape is a bit much. ^_^;;
I used to get my tapes from AnimePlus (Northridge, CA, USA). I believe that the tapes there were 23$ per dubbed Evangelion video and 27$ for subbed Evangelion video. . .
Try http://www.animenation.com and see if the prices they have the Eva tapes for is less. If so, I'd order from them (make sure to add the shipping prices when checking if they're less, and make sure you're in a different state so as not to pay tax:))

If you have a dvd player, the whole series is not yet out but the first four episodes are, and only about 30$ for four episodes instead of the tape which is about 25$ for 2 episodes

yeah, i am thinking of later getting a DVD play but there's so many choices for DVD players and such......

hmmm... would a DVD forum be justified ? :D

of course if you dont have DVD you could also go for VCD, so far, this site has the cheapest VCD's ive seen http://animie-go.com/store/c000057.htm they once had both movies at $20 US each (must have ran out). I e-mailed them about the quality and this is the answer i got:

Hi,

The quality for Eva is very good. The discs are direct from Japan. We only have a few items which are form Japan and Eva are one of them. Plse be assured of such quality.

I haven't watched it myself, but till date, there's no complains on the sound/picture quality.

However if you still want cheap VHS, you may check this site http://www.colossalgames.com/animevid3.html#nvid. - they're dubbed though

but like what the others said, i think that the DVD would be the best option - i for one am gonna get them when they're all released

Me, and anyone else from Australia are lucky. Australia were and I still think are the only English speaking country in the world to get Evangelion on Television.

Thanks SBS

Why don't you hire it on Video and dubb it off.
Its cheaper than paying $25 per video

Here it was aired twice. The start of the second series run on Monday night was the end of the series run on Friday night. A while ago an australian EVA newsgroup was pushing for a third run but there you go, we'll have to see.

As a seasoned Blockbuster employee (sure), I can only say one thing:

For Eva, and Blockbuster, $25 US is cheap. Of course, big corporations will always overcharge you. Your best bet is an online source, anywhere else is going to be waaaaaaaaaay too expensive. Unless you can find a purely anime store somewhere in the US to buy stuff from, it's not likely you're going to get much less than 25. Heck, at BB, it's a good 29.99 (think that's bad, Akira, widescreen and subtitled... 39.99 USD) Oh, well.

another place to get eva merchandise is Anime Express. don't know what their like, cause i haven't tried them yet, but they seem to have a pretty good selection. They have all the ep's of VHS for $19.95, as well as a lot of misc. stuff like a 1:1 scale model of Rei (or something, I read it pretty quickly). Plus, delivery in Australia is FREE! Anyway, I'm ordering an eva wall scroll from them in the next few days so I'll be able to say how reliable they are. :)

Whoaaaa...!! $25 What an expensive thing to buy ! But The Evangelion is worth to buy !
In Indonesia, you can buy the series for about $2 each. Yeah it was pirated VCD, but the quality is very very good.
To bad there's no Evangelion video in Indonesia.
But if you wanna buy another anime, maybe you could buy straight from Japan...It's cheaper and the shipping cost also cheap.
Try it, or just maybe you ask your friend who go to Japan or Indonesia (Bali is Indonesia) to buy you some anime titles.
