Has anyone seen this??? Geez, it's worse than ever...I mean I saw the periodical flaws with Cardcaptor Sakura
(like no overweight or different looking people, nothing really wrong...everything just so*perfect*
...Tomo's creepy disposition, the gayness of all the characters...)

but NOW, Toonami's turned it into something lol ridiculous!!! And why can't they stick to the Japanese names?
Like...

Sakura - Avalon
Tomo - Madison
That gay, gray-haired dude- something else, I forget...

Anyway...<sigh>

...toonami in the US or in AUS? cuz in my opinion, toonami US is really great (just in case you people dont know, cn DIDNT cancel gundam and will be back on air early october). and also, kids WB/Nelvana was the one who changed it card captor sakura, not toonami

And...? Isn't a lot of anime like that? Besides, it's geared for very young girls, it's meant to be shiny and happy and idealistic. Card Captor Sakura is not hardcore, if you hadn't noticed.
...Tomo's creepy disposition, the gayness of all the characters...
To paraphrase something said by Nanase Ohkawa, the woman who wrote the story, the...shall we say, alternative relationships in the series are meant to show what a kind and accepting and tolerant person Sakura is. But of course, American children aren't allowed to be kind and accepting and tolerant. Ahem.

That would be the wonderful Yukito, inappropiately renamed Julian.
Sorry, it's just that I felt the need to step in and defend CCS. It's only the cutest show I have ever seen ^_- I didn't mean any of that as an attack, by the way.

I don't think I need to elaborate on the terror that is "Card Captors". It's been done to death already. Here I was foolish enough to think, when I first heard that CCS was going to be on television, "Oh, that's cool, they won't have to change or edit it much at all!" Hmmph :dodgy:

<snowcherry said: "That would be the wonderful Yukito, inappropiately renamed Julian.">

(sorry, the quoting thing wouldn't work or something, nevermind)

Julian! That's it! Geez, what a name!

Oh yeah, and Fatal Outlaw, I *was* talking about American Toonami, but whoever's responsible for the butchering I still generalized it as Toonami, k? I watched it while it was under 'Kids WB Toonami' but I don't know the specifics.

Snowcherry, u don't have to go very far to defend CCS becuz I found it to be a pleasant and enjoyable show too, when I was in Thailand...I just don't think they did such a good job here (r these names REALLY that hard to pronounce? How else r kids suppose to be familiar with the outside world?).

Sometimes, though, I think it could add a lil' imperfection to it, even the best animes still have that, anyway...

peace ;)

well then, you got the wrong perception. i dont know why you generalize the idea of butchering as 'toonami', but if you do, please generalize it as 'Kids WB Toonami' so i, or we dont confuse it with the Cartoon Network version of toonami which shows great anime w/o the extent of butchering it to hell like kids wb toonami did to cardcaptors, cause the REAL toonami on cartoon network is a *110 floors higher than the kids WB version.

*that means better, if you didnt get the figure of speech.

heh, i figured. since you dont know about the original toonami yet, ill give you a quick lesson:

the original toonami (cartoon network) is hosted by tom2, sarah and the absolution(the ship) from 5 to 7 pm. currently, the shows on toonami are all dragonball, but toonami has broadcasted many different animes like outlaw star, gundam wing, sailor moon, ronin warriors. toonami has really made anime popular in the US, especially dragonball z. well, again, all the shows on toonami are dragonball, but in early october, mobile suit gundam will come back (they took off the show due to recent events). future shows (which are confirmed and scheduled sometime this fall) are gundam 0080 and 0083, and pilot candidate. and also, not in toonami, but cowboy bebop is also on air in cn.

so there you go. if you're an anime fan, get cable, cuz toonami is a great way to see new anime.

The Australian one sucks.

At 6:00pm we have Dragon Ball Z Andriod saga
At 6:30pm Card Captors - errrr lousy dubs
At 7:00pm we have Batman of the future
At 7:30pm we have Gundam Wing - errr semi lousy dubs

Well, we got all dragonball, And Z in the states right now…

BTW it was WB who got the butchering done of CardCaptor Sakura… I have a book one all the parts to it I gotta find it…

Of course one things for certain, most of the love life in it is taken out… And Li and that Other Girl…-The Maratil Artist… Where in an arragened marrage… And you don't have those unless you live in West Virgian, and also the episode order was all outta wack, because they wanted the action to grip the viewers…-Sucks don't it?

Once again I am in the minority. I liked the kids WB CardCaptors, of course it is better than most anything else on their line up currently. Still hearing how butchered it was is rather sad because no show should be massacred for reasons that aren't politically correct to the "American public".

But card captors is so kawaii:kawaii:!!! It makes me want to kidnap Sakura and keep her for myself!!!

I moved here just last month, Mr. Outlaw...and how the hell do u know that *I* wasn't j/k? Cuz I don't type that at the end of the sentence all the time? If UR sixth-sense for sarcasm (heh, alliteration) was worth beans...I don't think you'd be insulting *mine*...

the fact that you said, 'no offense P, Akira' implies that you're serious. i wasnt trying to insult you or anything, i was just asking cause you sounded too serious.
