les see...

1. What is the OVA ? And how many are there ?

i have only seen one OVA but i think there are 4 of them. it is about Kenshin's past during the time he was still Hitoriki. i think it shows the story of how he and his wife Tomoe met and the events that occurred afterwards

2. The series, how long has it ran ? (episodes)

where i borrow anime, they have 98 volumes. each vol has 2 eps. so 2x98= 196 eps. however im not sure with this coz Tekblade who has all the eps says there are only 95 vol.

3. Is the movie out on DVD or tape ? Is the movie good ?

im not sure if its on DVD, but i got to watch it dubbed on HBO. whether its good or not depends on your personal preference - if your after the fight scenes, you wont be impressed. story is, in my opinion ok

4. What are the differnaces between the TV, movie, And OVA ?

animation of the TV and movie are basically similar. the mood of the movie is kinda emotional. the series' is varied. OVA is dark and heavy. has a lot of blood, no SD, animation is a lot different from the series

ANY SITES THAT HAVE THIS INFO ?

go to http://www.anipike.com you should find a long list of RRK sites. which ones, im not sure... or you could wait for someone who can direct you to a good kenshin site.

1. What is the OVA ? And how many are there ?
The OVA is the story of Kenshin as the hitokiri. It is basically the Tomoe story and it is 4 parts, but I think in the US released version they fit them into 2 tapes.

2. The series, how long has it ran ? (episodes)
There are 95 episodes and about 4 episodes per volume. The 95th episode was never aired on japanese tv but you can get it seperately on it's own tape.

3. Is the movie out on DVD or tape ? Is the movie good ?
I don't know much about the movie, so I'm taking Ryezen's word on it.

4. What are the differnaces between the TV, movie, And OVA ?
the OVAs are much more serious than the tv series. The art is different too.

Personally I thought the movie was crap. The artwork/animation was nice, but there was less effort put into the plot than one of the tv eps. You could safely skip the movie and not miss anything.

When is the movie supposed to take place? Right after Kyoto?

I'm not exactly sure, but it would certainly fit just after the Kyoto arc.

I would definitely get the tv and the ova, just don't bother with the movie. I don't think you'll appreciate the OVA as much if you haven't seen at least up to the Kyoto arc of the TV first (first 60 eps or so).

I agree, the OVAs make more sense and are a lot more meaningful if you've seen a lot of the tv series first.

A second OVA series has been rumored but I don't know if it's true or not. It has been said to be about the Revenge Story arc which takes place after they kyoto arc in the tv series. It's about Enishi coming back to get revenge on kenshin (Enishi rules!)
