it's so WIERD!!! i finally got book 1....and it's so strange looking...Belldandy hardly looks like herself at all...i compared it with book 22...and wow....

I've read it before...but a long time ago...i'm not sure if i can really stand looking at it...but it's pretty cool to see how much Fujishima's changed...he's gotten so much better! it gives one hope...

I haven't really noticed. I guess its something I should check out. Are you sure its not just the clothes she's wearing?

i haven't seen it, but i've seen images of it. Bell does look pretty different. (of course she looks a lot better now ;))

yeah, she does changed A LOT.

I found a site once that explained, with pictures from the manga, the four stages Belldandy's appearance went through. It was really neat.
can't find the link though :heh:

Mr_Bug: Thanks dood... you've covored everything i wanted to say. :D

Falinah: Hey there. :) Yay! Glad you finally picked up the first manga... Now maybe we can talk more about it. Fujishima has really improved since he first started.

Human Fighter: What i wanted to say to you was already said by Mr_Bug so please refer to his answers, for he gave excellent reference.

I've only seen the covers of the original manga *blinks*...
From what I can see from those Fujishima've really improved though, a natrual factor from drawing I guess :heh:.

I still need to rebuild some cash before I can order more manga, or anime stuff for that matter :sweatdrop... OMG's high on the list though.

Weird how I didn't notice in the slightest. But now that I dug up the volumes and checked, she has changed quit a bit.

It is known that artists over time change their form of how they draw their charas… A great example is look at the cartoon strips in the newspaper and then find a book with the first strips in them…-You'll see it… Another way and a singe out example of this is Garfield… The cat… he goes through at least 5 different forms…

Aa! Megami-sama was first published in Afternoon magazine in the August 1988 issue. It's natural that Fujishima-sensei would have changed his character designs over the years, and fortunately for us it's been for the better! Although that round-headed phase about the time of Terrible Master Urd was a little strange... :rolleyes2

What's changed just as much from the early manga is the personalities of the characters. In the early days Bell-chan would fight with Urd at the drop of a hat. When Skuld showed up she began to change into the sweet, gentle person she is today. It's mentioned in the manga that the Almighty is pleased with the way Skuld is maturing while she's on Earth, as well. As for Urd, she's more the older, wiser sister now than the rather predatory sexy goddess of the early manga. Not to say that she's lost any sexiness, IMO she's sexier now than she was then!

By the way, Black_Knight, I thought the H.E.V. MkIV Protective Systems only came in orange.

Hey, wait! Black_Knight changed his sig! Now my witty, insightful comment looks stupid! Sigh... :(
