Would you guys attempt to kill me if I Cosplayed as Belldandy?

Here goes.

I have asked this question in other forums and threads, where the risk factor is relatively low, for Ah My Goddess fans don't usually congregate there en-mass.

I cross-played Lina Inverse and won a Blood The Last Vampire DVD for it on Saturday August the 11th 2001 at the Melbourne Anime Festival.

In order to top that act, I've been contemplating dressing as Belladandy for 2002, and thus far on the net and off I have received 22 death threats for it.

Look at the following picture of me as Lina and judge if my idea is a potentially suicidal one:

Actually... Ronin cosplaying as Bell-chan prolly will never beat out the 400+ woman in a moomoo cosplaying as Bell-chan... unfortunately that image will be forever burned into my nightmares.

Well, the first can be taken care simply by a long brown wig. And yes, as an Anti-Tenor I can sing the Soprano piece from the film as well :D

Oh, and anyhoo. Death threat Number 18 was the funniest to date. It was a hot after noon, hence he was wearing Sandals. And upon hearing the "B word" he took them off and tried to use them as weapons to hit me with A.L.A Jerry Springer !! :lol:

Anyway, as any true cosplayers know, I cosplay because I love!! It is an expression of my love (and perhaps respect) for such a wonderful character :kawaii:

I happen to really like Belldandy, and only wish that girls with similar qualities were a reality. She is very innocent, beautiful and tries her very hardest to do what is right. The way in which she cares for Keiichi-san is charming, and her tears tug at you when she feels something amiss is her fault.

But all that said, I would not get riled up should Ronin dress up as Belldandy. After all, it is only a bit of fun and he seems to have a sense of humor. I think it is a quite funny, interesting and bold idea to go as a female character, more so given that he is straight. Not many males would risk the misconceptions that could spring up, thus Ronin cosplaying as a girl merely proves that he is a great deal less ego-dependant than most guys.

That is a healthy thing and he is probably better off for it, really.

You may cosplay as Urd. Truly, a sight well worth the piffling interstate trip to behold, though sadly many matters other than the distance stand in my way. I noticed comments on acquiring a tan to play the role, as Urd is indeed rather sun-bronzed.
Did you really intend to attempt that?
If so I tip my hat to you out of respect for your sheer dedication to the cause.

Perhaps in future I will be better able (time-wise, transportation and money-wise) to attend the con. I will look forward to one day seeing the special efforts that, from the sound of your past and present efforts mentioned in this thread, you both (Miko, Ronin) put into cosplay.

Back on the topic of males cosplaying as females...reading of Ronin's intentions has inspired me. I would quite enjoy attending AVcon in Adelaide as a character of the fairer sex. Sadly I am unsure of how well such an attempt would work, as I am rather broad of shoulder and not entirely...feminine in figure or build.

The only thing that stopped me from cosplaying as Belldandy is the sheer lack of skill level and experience in sewing and needlework. :D

However, once that is accquired through the making of the Multi and Naru costume this year, see you next year as Belldandy. :D

Well, K1's a guy so it's no shock that he's gonna look around. I highly doubt that he's going to go so far as to actually cheat on Bell. I don't even think he's be able do, depending on how one interprets the Ultimate Force. Also, if Bell found out that Keiichi did cheat on her, she'd be more likely to be angry with herself than angry with Keiichi. She'd look at as Keiichi doing it because she wasn't able to make him happy. Keiichi's happiness is her reason for ticking, so to speak.

Indeed, I agree. Bell lives her life for K-1 so she would never blame him for anything. K-1 loves Bell with all his heart and even though he may peek at other women from time to time he is totally devoted to Belldandy.
What really pulls me to Oh My Goddess is the relationship Bell and K-1 have. It so sweet and innocent that there is no way anyone could ever come between them:)
