I understand that when you betray your bestfriend in Japan, it's a serious offense. So what?! I mean, Miaka is her bestfriend... that means she's not a true friend that she really thought she is if she gives in to a lie...
by the way... kinda lost the really long version of this thread, because i got cut off but this is basically the bulk of the messege....
well bear in mind that Yui thought she was raped hence her attitude

I have to disagree with u Nairohe, maybe a little, okay she's a bit of a bitch but not totally. She thought she was raped didn't she like its not a great thing for a girl u should understand it more than we guys. Plus add that mind manipulating bastard Nakago, if u were with such a person your going to be lost and all.

Yo, no one slanders my Nakago! He IS a conniving, self-important, manipulating illegitimate child. THOSE ARE HIS GOOD POINTS!! That's what makes him such a cool villan. *would hug and kiss him bar her fear of blue ki balls* But Yui-chan...Yui-chan is cool! I would have MUCH preferred her to have Tamahome than Miaka....(Ask Hiyoku-sama about the nasty things I do to Miakas) Anyway, I think she's smart....she realized the differences between Taka and Tamahome and decided she was better off with Tetsuya. ^..^

You have to put yourselves in Yui's shoes. Picture this you did everything to save your best friend and you end up in a foreign land all alone. Then every single day the person who saved you reminds you that you've been raped. Then when your "friend" returns you hear her saying that the reason she went there was for the man she met. Who would you trust? The friend who deserted you or the man whon saved you? Go figure
Good reasoning, yui was really happy that Miaka until she over hear miaka and tamahome's convseration

I think miaka was stupid to say she only came back for Tama and that's all. I would have said" I came back for you and my best friend Yui." I don't get why she didn't say that, I mean the room they were in was echoing and you figure that maybe someone out side would hear you!
Yes, Miaka shouldn't have put it that way, but, she DID come back for Yui as well, so, Yui took it the wrong way.
remember...
Nagako only manipulated Yui by hating the Miaka and summoning Seiryuu to grant Nagako's wish
Yeah, some people have told me that, but, I haven't seen enoughof FY to know all the details about that.
well...watch some of it and you will further understand the anime :D

Well, I've watched every series of FY - tv and ova. except for the manga though... and i think that Yui isn't a bastard... the circumstances called for it that's why she acted that way...

i can see why yui was feeling the way she was, but shouldn't you trust your best friend? that's what pissed me off the most.
if you're a true friend then you can do that...

what really annoys me is how she thinks miaka betrayed her...but she betrays miaka herself...like with the shinzaho..
she's hypocritical...and even those she thought she was raped, and she thought it was miaka's fault, thats not an excuse to act the way she did..
(ie try to tear her and her boyfriend apart)

i think Yuu Watase had over done it... a real friend won't do that to her best friend as Yui did to Miaka, i'm sure that's just becoz Watase wants to give a reason to let Yui and Miaka fight.
Yui is nice in OVA, totally different compare to before...

Well, as I said before, Yui's really lost especially with Nakago acting like her Guardian Devil. But still you can sense that she still like Miaka but her pride and anger overcomes her.
Miaka is really stupid to say Tamahome's the only reason that she came back. You would probably feel betrayed or abandoned if you heard your friend say that. It's like she cares for him more than she cares for you. So that's probably why Yui gave in to Nakago instead of her Childhood friend.
But Yui's actions were a little too bitchy......

Actually, Miaka did care for Tamahome more than she did Yui. Yui was still her friend, but Miaka was in the story long before Yui was, and had made a commitment to Tamahome, since she thought that she would never return home. After Miaka realized that Tamahome was the real reason she came back( of course she hadnt remembered what she had in the story, she went back because she was thinking rationally, but when she arrived there again, she saw all the friends she once had there, and a "love" that was once there), and Yui became just a sort of dead weight. Yet she was still her friend, so she ( Miaka) wouldnt give up on her and her promise to bring her (Yui) back to earth. So i think it wasnt a fault that Miaka told Tamahome that, i think it was Yui's fault for making a bigger deal than it was. I am come on, she did come back , and she was willing to risk her life to help Yui escape, what more did Yui want???:confused:

I still think Yui is one of the coolest characters in FY. She is not a batard. She was misled. Its not her fault that she was mislead and manipulated to the degree that she "looked" like a -----... she wasn't one! And about the whole friends betray friend bit and how it may have been overdone. Under the circumstances, I think it was well played. Eh, but thats just my opinion.
Well, I've seen a lot more of FY now (almost the whole TV series), and I have to agree with the fact that she acted that way because of Nakago's manipulations.
In fact.....

He manipulated just about everybody! Yui, Suboshi, Soi, Miaka at one point, Tamahome at one point, the list probably goes on! *headlocks Nakago and beats him to a bloody pulp*
