does anyone read RayEarth? i just got the first book translated in English of course... and i loved it... my best friend's got book of the basic art of rayearth but i absolutely love the story line and the comedy... anyone else like it?!?! i've just borrowed the Rayearth OVA series to watch (haven't watched it yet - but will do soon) ^^;;

I've read the Rayearth manga and thought that it was utterly beautiful, well the first three volumes at least. The last three are sort of sappy but good but nowhere near as good as the first half.
i've only seen the first two eps of season one of magic knight rayearth and i'm hoping to see more
I've collected the mangas a long time ago and i just DLEd the translation. It really a cool and funny series.:)
I love it! One of my favorite series. :D

i have the first and second boxsets (it emptied my bank account once), i really loved it. i havent seen the oav's yet though

The OAV is pretty good, a kind of retelling of the Cephiro world and how the trio got mixed up in it. My view on it is that it's better animated, and the character designs are much better, except for that...school uniform they always wear. :down: Anyway, it's among my faves...
well i just finished watching the OAV series - and i really liked it!
the animation is very nice and the storyline, interesting.
definately not disappointed :)
yes, the uniform is a bit.... o_O
i haven't seen the tv series yet - is it good?

all i can say about the tv series is its long and the storyline is solid. the first season is kinda so-so, the real story actually begin in the second season

Seen the TV series. Dumb enough to get the MKR II DVD box set which emptied my bank account for ages. I consider booth seasons top notch. It isn't quite like the manga series, though I've only read the last volume. Having not read the first three, I can only guess that the OVA series doesn't follow it.
Anyway, just saw one and a bit eps of the OVA and I gotta say it ROCKS. Took awhile to adjust to some of the different relationships between the bad guys and a few other things. After that, it's ALL GOOD!! Well... save for those damn uniforms. What were they thinking??!!

hai, agreed - the OAV rocks! talk about visuals~! ;)
i'm going to check out the t.v. series as soon as exams are over >.<
anyway speaking of which, i was ranting and raving about the OAV series to my friend today and said that i wanted to check the t.v. series out ...but she suggested for me not to bother because it's rather childish as in it's more targeted for little kids (????????) :confused:

Well, she has a point. But then all OVAs are aimed at an older audience. The TV series are always tamer by comparison. They also have more time to develop the characters. In the case of MKR TV, IMO, there are few wasted eps. If I had to compare TV OVA and manga, I'd say the manga was the vision that is MKR. The TV series is a popular version (that is, it won't offend anyone) that follows the manga storyline to an extent, and the OVA is the essence of MKR. Mecha battles aren't that great in the TV series plus the designs look like the manga ones but it makes up for it in other "shoujo" areas.

I haven't seen any anime series of MKR, but I own all the mangas. It's a cool series, the only one from CLAMP which I like.
The 2nd Rayearth was the best one, in my opinion. The storyline was fantastic.:cool:

Glad to. MKR has a great story worthy of being trumpetted from the tallest peaks.

I came up with a theory about why the uniforms look so dodgy and from the looks of it nobody, not even MKR fans, like them.
Ready? It's because the audience would become that much more pleased when the girls get out of them. :naughty:

I've seen the first season of the Rayearth TV series. And I've read the mangas all at least twice. I loved it all. But I just love CLAMP...except for Clover. Clover was just a little weird. And I didn't really follow it much, but that's okay.
I also have the first two volumes of the 2nd Rayearth season, and one from somewhere in the middle. I don't why I don't have the rest, other than the fact that Jim (comic shop guy) got those ones in.
