This show is a new chapter in "Fushigi Yugi" with a brand new story. The 4-volume OVA is based on the novel series "Fushigi Yugi Gaiden - Eikouden (Parts 1 & 2)," and this is volume 1 of 4. Miaka and Taka Sukunami (who is Tamahome reincarnated) get married. But a new danger awaits the world of the Shishin Tenchisho... In addition to popular characters such as Suzaku Shichiseishi, new characters are introduced in this series.

More Region 2 in English (08:40 PM EST): Are you hard up for more Miaka and Tamahome after the Fushigi Yugi OVA release this past summer? Fushigi Yugi - Eikou den Vol.1 has finally been announced, the next chapter based on the novels that were announced at the conventions this past summer. The first of four OVA's, it's due on 12/21/2001 with the single 30 minute episode on it. On the plus side? It's in English and Japanese with Japanese subtitles. The inclusion of the dub would mean that when Pioneer USA gets the completed materials for the 2nd episode, we'll likely see the first of two domestic discs coming out for it early this coming spring. But if you can't wait and want to spend about 40$ and episode, there's an alternative for you.
