Best Macross/Robotech = ?????

Although I've only seen DYRL and Macross Plus, 4 ep version. I feel that Macross Plus is the better one and it's gonna be hard to beat. Are there any others that are even better, or have I already reached the peak of airplanes-that-can-litterally-kick-asses anime?

So what are we comparing?Macross with Macross Plus?or Robotech with Macross Plus? Either way I'd have to say Robotech,just because the original Macross was just so good.Macross Plus was really good as well,but in my eyes,there's no topping the original Macross.

i saw one in my schools anime club...i think it was called Macross 7 plus. that was pretty weird how they power there robots with music but its really good...not sure about the name though...:dot:

The original is still the best in my opinion. Macross itself the 36 episode series. Plus is great but the original still holds a lot for me sentimentally. More characters, a more dramatic setting. The characters in Plus were excellent but I when I hear Macross I still think of Hikaru, Roy, Misa, Minmay, Max, Gloval and Ben.

yes, its really a bit hard to compare the origional macross with macross plus. Don't forget that Macross was done back in the 80's, and Macross plus in the 90's, so the avaliablity of advanced animation (ie CGI) is different.

But then again, the origional series is kind of a classic, like, as death said, the origional BGC is a classic. Theres nothing quite like watching a mecha-sized humanoid die via explosive decompression...

Macross 7 was also weird. I watched 1 ep at our local anime society. The guy yelled "LISTEN TO MY SONG" and got shot... which was good! and i'm not going near any anime where the main character paints his valkyire red and controls it with his guitar.

ah i heard of macross 7. it was supposed to be the crappiest macross series i heard of. oh well maybe thats me. i have yet to see it at all, so i dunno so i cant judge :D but i gues my fav would be the original robotech in the u.s andmacross plus. i wanted to see the other macross's which were macross vfx2 but i cant seem to find it

Macross 7 was different but also one of the first anime's I saw. I like it.... it can't compare to things like Plus or the original though.
