I want to know every ones opinions on whether it would be better for me to get the subbed(Japanese) or dubbed(English) version of NGE.And is the music from the origanl(if Dubbed)?

I really like how the Japanese voices sound and also the music, but I'm not sure if I'll like the Dubbed English voices. Are they good compared to the Japanese voices?

Also are the movies part of the volume series that have been realeased? or Are they going to be sold seperate?

I myself, would recomend the dubbed version, but I haven't seen Eva in Japanese so I don't know. I have seen EOE once in Japanese and I found it hard to keep up with the subtitle because the Japanese speak faster than I can read (I'm not sure if the rest of you could keep up). Also when your watching Eva in Japanese you seem to be reading it more than watching it. If you want to read it buy the Manga

The Voices are better in Japanese because they picked the Voices for the character not just because that's who they have on the payrole. I have heard Auska voice in so many other Anime (Gunsmith Cats, Burn up W, Powerdolls ect) along with the rest of the Cast of Evangelion. But they are in English

>Also(again) are the movies part of the volume series that have been realeased? or Are they going to be sold seperate
The Series are realesed in 13 part series with two episodes per Video (26 episodes in all).
The movies however are not, They have been just dubbed into English, (I think) and are due for realesed Late in 2000. (I heard Sept, but I could be wrong) so we still have a bit of a wait.

I think I covered everything (mostly my opinion) but maybe someone else can give you their opinion to help you decide

Get subbed!!! ^_^;;
Well, that's just my opinion. Thing about it like this, have you ever bought other anime before? Did you buy it subbed or dubbed (most of the time). Whichever you usually buy, you'll probably like more, since it's a preference thing.

I currently own 6 dubs and 7 subs of the NGE collection. And what I experienced is that they are almost identical. The original music is left in , direct dialogue translations, and the dub voices aren't that bad. Although, the dub actors seem to lack in quality in some episodes. For example Asukas dub voice is damn anoying cause the actor is always screaming, when she speaks softly the voice sounds perfect . If you still arent certain you can just go buy the NGE dvds as they come out. Whichever tape you decide to buy, you wont be dissapointed.

I usaully get the subbed versions, But I find the dubeb(in some cases)voices to be without feeling and sincerity, and I mostly watch anime's that have good and sad moments and I want there to be feeling. I don't speak Japanese but there seems to be more feeling in the voice.
Thanks for your opinion guys, hopefully when I decide on what I'm getting(subbed or dubbed) I'll come here for EGN questions. Well, actually I would ask questions, but I'm just reading translacted scripts, so, until I personnally view the series then I will come here(I will still come for the round about questions and such)to voic my opinions on characters and the plot:p

i say subbed..
the japanese voice actors are a lot better, especially asuka.
but reading subs does detract from watching the action....

but chances are your gonna see it enough times to know the dialogue :)

personally, i go for english subbed versions - exept on rare occasions. based on my experience, the subbed versions are the closest one can get, in terms of translation and spirit, in appreciating the anime as it was intended to be presented. As i said in a previous post, if your gonna get something as good as eva, you might as well get the (english) subbed.

Well, my opinion is that I like both versions. I like the dubbed because of the english voices but i like the subbed ones because i like hearing the original voices. I guess it comes down to a matter of personal preference. :B:

I would say subbed and dubbed are the same, but other than that it comes down to personal preference.
