View Full Version : Nitpicking CCS....

it's rather funny to see how the series had been mixed up after seeing uncut ones when I was in Korea.
Actually, I was surprised that it got dug up at all because the thing is more than three years old!

By the way, Sakura fans might get berserk if they read on...
Yep, I've made the warning, so turn back now!

But then here are the things that kinda got stupid in CCS,

1. Cardcaptors....(They changed it from CCS because, well, it was the same reason why Korean dubbed one got changed to CardCaptor Cheri.... I am suspecting national icon issues)

2. The relationship between Li and ML....(they deleted it to make the love between CCS and Li look better in morals)

3. Where is that ep that was totally about nothing? Where did it go in the American dubbed version???

4. CCS seems to be inocent, DESPITE the fact she is a regular bedtime breaker, and DESPITE the fact she broke someone else's family arrangement, and DESPITE the fact she actualy goes around acting super-cute, but always go on bitching about one thing or other....why all the flaws???
Plus, this sounds Bold & the Beautiful kinds thing...suitable for
children..?

5. Why does ML have the Jessie voice from Pokemon?

6. For someone who came from Hong Kong "just now", Li seems to speak Jap VERY well.....

Okay! I'll get back on topic!

About Mei-Lin in the dubbed version! Doesn't that girl's voice really sound like a witch! For some reason it reminds me of you, Tamaritha! Scary! :(

It oughta.
I actually tried out for ML's voice while in Korea, but didn't get it - they needed full-time gal for six months.

Are you sure Saria-Chan was at Melbourne on Saturday the 11th of August to know what you are talking about, Mr Gouki? :kawaii:

No, she's too young to come all the way (unaccompanied) to Manifest from where she lives, not to mention school. But she just needs to dip in the Manifest forum to find out about you.

So you coming to MAS again Sat?

Oh, most definitely.

However, I will be a little late.

For on that very morning (Saturday the 29th of November 2001), I will (hopefully) be receiving my Orange Belt in Shotokan Karate at Melbourne University.

By the way, would Mister Fireyskull be coming along? If not, tell him that my suggestion for his "cape' costume is the Escaflowne Unit.

Finally, on the subject of cosplay...

...I've just accquired the material needed for the costume of Belldandy and Kiki, and will make them as soon as my exams are over (29th of November). :kawaii:

... MAS is tomorrow, the 24th Nov...

MS: You said tamaritha is scary, I said Ronin is more so when he happened to appear in this thread. And I was just checking to see if he was coming to the club screening this Sat. I can go into the finer points but I haven't go net time at home for a while so either you wait 'til Monday morning or drop into the Manifest forum under Anime Conventions on the front page.

Yes... he is... *shudder*

And in case tamaritha missed the PM, and wonders where I went, I won't be on nights 'til next month. And the next time I'm on AB will be Monday morning.

Funny how most people on AB don't realise I'm a boy from my caustic manner of speech.

Funny that indeed... :kawaii:

I actually tried BECAUSE I have actually experienced being a seiyuu before - one of those "one ep" characters in this anime that I cannot even remember the name of.
By the way, most seiyuus are adults, from ages of 25 - 45, even if they're playing children's voices.
...And it is hard work, co-ordinating your mouth with the character's mouth.*groans*

Is it true you often receive scripts on the day of recording without much time for rehersals?

tamaritha

...IT actually depends on the company organisation of matters.
Most major roles let you know you've got it by giving you the script once you sign the contract.
But for minor characters, most are held on by auditions, and a part of the script is selected - the rest of script is given on the day.
The thing is, you can bring it in through the air-locked recording room so it really doesn't matter.
The lighting will be a prob, though if you are trying to just read it off, so you still learn it off, but keep the script.
