Best OAV Episode: Episode 10, I love Tenchi. It has always been my favorite!
Best TV Episode: What number was it? No Need For Swimsuits! ;)
Best Shin Episode: Haven't seen much...the one where Washu creates that malfunctioning communication system (Tenchi in an elephant costume...:rolleyes: :lol: )

well ive only seen the OAV and a bit of tenchi Universe so far so im just gonna say that the first of the OAV has to be my favourite.

Best OVA: Hello Baby!
A beautiful episode, that takes us unexpectedly deep into the heart of Washu, and ties together many relationships in a meaningful and poignant way. The writing/direction is great, the balance between comedy and drama is great. It's subtle, but not underplayed. It doesn't have the climactic developments of the Zero Ryoko story arc, but it lays the essential framework. My personal favorite also, just cuz I love Washu. ^_^

Runner-Up: Zero Ryoko ... for tying it all together in such a brilliant climax.


Best TV: No Need for a Carnival!
A brilliant episode, highlighting all the best parts of the series. The carnival brings out the best (and worst) in all the characters. Ryoko and Ayeka have a priceless exchange wherein they compare flashbacks. Washu is at her evil best with her sideshow attraction of "The Eight Worst Hells!" Truly an ensemble episode in the best tradition.

Runner-Up: Time and Space Adventures: Part II ... for being so damn funny.


Best Shin TV: Ryoko's Big Date
Hands-down the best Ryoko/Tenchi romance episode of all time! Our leading lady is never so emotionally vulnerable (or downright pretty) ... not even in the melodramatic third act of "Tenchi Universe." The emotions here are raw and gut-wrenching, perfectly showcasing Ryoko's tender and fragile emotional side, and making the devestation of Carnival utterly credible.

Runner-Up: Payback ... for the astonishingly perfect ending.

episode 3, "Hello Ryo-Ohki"
In this episode its revealed that this series is something very different. A cute cat-rabbit creature grabs center stage, but if you look closely you notice that "ordinary" grandfather is somehow shielded against Ryoko's attacks. Just what's going on here anyways? Also has the very touching scene where Riooki presents the flower to Aeka. Think this reveals that Rioohki has a good heart and wants to make up for previous misdeeds.

episode 26, "No Need for a Conclusion"
The ending line from Sasami is priceless. "No way! Aeka's decided to run away! I'm going back there too!"

Shin
episode 25, "Flower falls, after you leaves"
Sakuya proves she's worthy after all by sacrificing an eternal dreamworld with the man she was designed to love.

I ahve no idea where the episode title comes from but for straight out Ryoko/Ayeka trying to score with Tenchi humor, this takes the cake!

TV- Time and Space Story Arc- I liked these episodes, just because of their wackiness.

Shin TV- Ugggghhhh...I didn't like any of 'm that much, but the one with the love goddess was funny.

best OAV EP:Here comes Jurai. Ayeka and Sesami's mother is the funniest. Not to mention what you expect out of mother who keeps glomping. But who can forget Ryo-ohki's kawaii performance in front of Misaki and the later on the emporer, Azusa?

It would be so hard for me to choose a favorite, reading all of your posts reminds me of how much I love Tenchi and the whole gang and miss them a lot not to see their stuff on tv anymore... I can't wait for the new OVA's...

(I actually have most of all the episodes for all the series and the movies, but it's just not the same as when you just turn the tv on and can just see Tenchi and all of them there doing their thing.)
