Ok... we all know Skulds weapon of choice is her cute mallet. What about everyone else? Yea, i know some of you will prolly say "cloak you fool, Urds' weapon of choice is her magice. or so and so happens to like huge wooden spoons, etc etc"....

But what I'm talking about is a physical weapon like Skulds mallet... So what sort of weapon do you think would suite each of the goddesses?

(if any of you dare give Bell-chan any sort of cooking utensil, beware my wraith in the shape of a GIANT WOODEN SPOON!) :heh:

Honeslty, I could see Urd wielding a double sided Axe, and I could see Peorth using a halberd. I could also see Hild using a Ball and Chain.

Just to name a few examples.

For Urd…-It would be some sexual device… :heh:

Belldandy… I got no idea…

Weapons? OK, let's give this a shot.

Well, canonically Rind/Lind uses a halberd which appears to be connected to her wrist. (a wrist axe?)

I was going to ignore Black_Knight, :dodgy: but Urd is veeeeeeeery good with a bull whip which she has, indeed used very effectively as a sexual device for the benefit of the Nekomi S&M club officers.

The only weapon I remember Bell-chan using was a flute. ;) Oh, wait! I remember when she went super-sayan back in Terrible Master Urd she used a staff to stop Fenrir.

Peorth, hmm. I can't think of anything, really, though she does seem to be fond of projectile attacks. I can't think of anything at the moment, really.

I think Urd' fit having a whip best, it's her personality's fault.. ehee.
I doubt Belldandy'd use a weapon if she had one *blinks*... she'd prob be using a leathal feather or something *sweatdrop*.
... Hnn Hild could prob be fitting any weapon.
Skuld's mallet beats them all though..

Yeah Urd and the whip works...

Belldandy and... a pen, she's more of a diplomat than a warrior, I guess if someone hurt Keiichi she'd bust out with a monkey wrench like Keiichi would use on his motorcycle, symbolic of her undying love for him.

Let's see:

Peorth : A 3-Section staff with which she can fight in a very exotic, dance like style. Peorth prefers to exploit an opponent's weanesses, and therefore a weapon used for disarming foes such as the 3 section staff would be more than appropriate for her.

Urd : A pair of Chinese Hook Swords, with which she can fight in a very sexy dance formation. Like Peorth, Urd likes to exploit a foe's weakness, but is much more aggressive and versatile. Therefore a pair of Chinese Hook Swords, which can disarm and break a weapon, and also be blindingly fast and lethal, would suit this exotically sensuous deity best.

Skuld: A rune encrusted war hammer, which is packed with hidden missile launchers in the handle and an assortment of gadgetry. :kawaii:

Belldandy : This may be more a martial arts style than an actual weapon , but I would say a person as pacifistic yet powerful as Bell-Neechan would use a so called "cloth lance." This is exhibited to spectacular levels of skill by Donnie Yen in Once Upon A Time In China 2, also starring Jet Li.

You see, spun at high speeds, a cloth can achieve the rigidity of a spear, or polearm if you will. It can then be used to impale, pulverise and bash the foe like any other pole arm. Of course, the weilder can choose to decrease the velocity of the spinning, and thereby increasing the cloth's flexibility. The cloth can then be used in the manner of a flexible whip, which can be used to ensnare, strangle and disarm foes.

And this is a dry cloth we are talking here. A soaked cloth, carrying the ponderous weight of water and the inner force of the weilder, will guarantee certain death or crippling as the impact cascades upon the struck victim.

Belldandy is the most versatile of the four deities; and the most merciful. She would therefore use whip formation first to entrap, disarm and ensnare foes. And only ever use the lance mode to shatter weapons, and would only strike to kill at the direst of circumstances.

The gentle yet strong elegance of fine silk makes this a most approriate weapon for Belldandy.

*sits there amazed at Ronin's explanation*

I really can't think of any but Ronin hit it on the head most definately.

Well, the weapons I listed here are very Chinese biased (I am a Martial Artist, after all) and would actually be odd for a quartet of Norse deities. If anyone has a list of more appropriate arsenals, please include them. :kawaii:

Yer a freak Ronin. Norse weapons are like hammers and spears and axes and crap.

And since they are crude and heavy crap, they therefore would never match the sheer elegance, beauty and coolness of Chinese Martial Arts Weapons. :)

Bell can use that forehead thingie as a light saber, and kick Darth Maul's ass.

Crude? Dude, it's made to break through ARMOR. If the east fought the west, the west woulda owned, a katan can't pierce armor, yo.

Actually, a Spanish soldier during the Tokugawa period tested the might of a well forged katana by stacking five bronze coins on thop of one another, on top of the wooden table.

The katana shore through the coins and the table, without a single crack or dent to show for it. Were the centimtre thick armour in place of the coins, it would have two wearers instead of one.

These weapons are the epitome of fine tuned metallurgy. :)

Probably one of the reasons the Romans stuck to iron and hardened leather for armor. Bronze is soft as metals go. :)

No doubting that. Katanas are wonders of metallurgy.

Getting back to Urd's weapon, though, I think she'd go with something like Cloakie's battle axe. Urd can use finesse when she wants to, but tends to go for the "peace through superior (translated: 'massive quantities of') firepower" route. I don't see her keeping her head enough to use hook swords in battle. She tends to do the berserker thing once the fight gets going.

I think you're right. I only picked hook swords because the circular dance forms of this weapon are very sexy when performed by a scantily clad and voloptuous woman like her. A pair of hook swords may be sexy like her, but maybe not her. :heh: An ax is actually is quite sexy too, come to think about it. :kawaii:

Yeah, bronze is pretty weak.

Ronin Aquila

So weak that when a Roman soldier bends his sword in battle, all he needs to do is straighten it with his foot (That's right, his foot!! ) and keep fighting with it.

But uh, I'm referring to iron and steel armor of the medieval time period, not the bronze of the Greek/Roman era.

Those swords are forged our of a single pour of molten metal in a mould, as compared to the multilayered Katana. Hence they are basically edged crowbars that are are horrendously brittle, and would shatter at the point of impact at the wrong angle of striking.
