Key the Metal Idol -vs- Serial Experiments Lain

Just finished watching Key the Metal Idol. In some ways like Serial Experiments lain, in other ways not.

Any thoughts?

I've seen up through episode six of Key. I'll comment when I rent the last DVD.

I have noticed some interesting similarities.

First I thought KMI was a rip-off of SEL, but then I read the copyright date and noticed that KMI came out first.

Ive seen Key first and I was hook on the series ...a year later I was introduced with Lain and Ive notice some similarities from the main character .
Isnt the VA of Lain the same one from KMI?

sigh... the rip off garbage again, huh? Can't you simply enjoy a show without talking about its similarities to other shows?

I've got the first 2 DVDs, so I've seen the first 13 eps. And yes, as you can see by my avatar, I like Key very much :D I'm not gonna compare it with Lain until I see the ending, since a very strong point of Lain was its great ending.
