View Full Version : Syoran's love for Sakura

Remember, how in the beginning, Syoran had a crush on Yukito? But, later on, Syoran found out that it was only because of Yue's power. Well, Syoran did not start to like Sakura until around the second season, when she started to have an increase in her power. So, that could mean, that Syoran is only attracted to Sakura because of her power... What do you thinK?

Possible. But anyone with half a brain cell saw that coming the moment Shaoran was introduced, power or not. The power probably assisted only so far as not causing an instant dislike as in the case of Mizuki Kaho.
BTW, put "Spoilers" in the thread title since your openning post already contains spoiler material for anyone that has only seen a hand full of eps.

Not really... if you look at it, his crush developed before Sakuras power levels really started to climb. :p

I couldn't really tell how much power she, let alone how much power is necesary for the attraction if that's the way it went.

Another thing, if Shaoran was only attracted to magical power, he would have had something for Eriol. :heh:

i don't think Syaoran got attracted to Sakura because of her power...he got attracted, that's all
like cloakactive said...if that's the case then he also got attracted to Eriol

Sorry I know this has complete irrelevence to the topic but I've seen three different spellings fr Li's first name and not to mentiona few more from other places! But can I ask what the real spelling is? I always thought it was Syaoran?

That spelling is pattern correct. I spell it Shaoran because it is phonetically correct. This is the same reason I type "shi" instead of "si" and "tsu" instead of "tu".

I just felt that Li was a little jealous and resentful of Sakura for becoming a Cardcaptor so easily while he had been training for it for all his life. He just needed to get over the angst and his attraction to Yukito to really see what an adorable little girl Sakura is.

That probably wasn't the case with Shaoran's training. He had powers that were special. None of his magic is Card Captor magic. They can only subdue a card, not return it to it's card form. That's to say they weren't specialised for "Card Captoring", just, for the lack of a better word, general use.
BTW, suzaku. "Li Shaoran" isn't American, it's phonetic.

Yeah rei-gouki is right. The westernised spelling is Li Showron! Jap name is better!

He has a lot more power than Sakura initially especially with those talismen he uses. He was obviously trained to take down the Clow cards AND he can use the Clow cards as well although he can't transform them. It's who beats the card not the one who transforms it the improtant factor in the first part of the series, right?
Would Shaoran be pronounced 'Xiao lan' in Chinese?

I suppose. But then it's he's heritage so you would expect him to learn about them. As for activating cards... it's hard to say if it was a special action that activates the cards since we only have Sakura's and Shaoran's to go by. For all we know any magician that can activate magical items can also activate the cards using the same method.

Sorta. Xiao(3rd tone) lang(2nd tone). I haven't checked the dictionary but I'm pretty sure that's the accepted spelling. What you have there could be small basket rather than small wolf. :heh:

Small basket? That will really ruin Shaoran.
So far only those within the Read bloodline can use the cards right?
That would be a nice idea for the third or fourth movie. Some ancient rival(not the oned from the 1st movie) is able to use the Sakura Cards against Sakura.
Or...Sakura's descendant from 100 years later comes back and start stealing Sakura cards so she can use them against an enemy in the future who's destroying the cards. Has possibilities?

only the ppl on the Reed bloodline and the choosen Card Captor are the only ones who can use the Clow Cards...

We all know that. That's why it it would be an interesting plot twist to use for a future CCS movie. Nothing like getting blindsided.
