Why does Tooya dress so gay?

When I first started watching Ayashi No Ceres, I was immediately disturbed by the fact that Tooya was wearing some sort of tank top thing and flaunting his abs... If I tried to wear something like this I would immediately be beaten to a pulp... Not that I ever would...

I was actually hoping those guys beating on Aki in episode 5 with give Tooya a good beating too for dressing like an idiot... Unfortunately, he seems to be pretty tough, which is probably why he has no fashion sense... Everyone is afraid to tell him that he looks like an idiot...

He looks like he belongs in some sort of gay bar...

It's one of the reasons I don't like touya very much... other than the poor character development. (kiss a girl on the first meet? and you were instructed to kill her? WHAT?!)

Anyhoo, Ms. Watase probably tried to hard to make him 'bishounen....' She should've stuck to the simplified versions like Tamahome, Yuuki and Hotohori. Those guys didn't have to dress extravagantly to capture a girl's heart but... well, Touya? he forcibly or rather seems to have a big sign board that says 'i'm bishounen, YOU WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH ME.'

Well she failed. It would be nice to grit touya's cute little face into aspalt.

When you look at Tooya, your first thought should be, "GACK~! It's a Weiß Kruez escapee! Bad fashion sense and all!"

In the manga, he quickly ditches that outfit, thank Gackt, but I do have to say it's really Yohji-esque. I think Watase-sensei was on a WK kick when she made his designs.

As far as Tooya in general, I think his lack of memory, lack of people skills, and lack of humanity all together should help get him a little slack, but he's just one of those stoic characters that many people don't like. What can you say? I really liked Alec myself, and dear Shuro. Too bad neither of them got much anime screentime.

the first thing i thought when i saw Tooya was "why on earth did he steal Yohji's shirt!?"
people already said stuff about Weiss, but i think it's true!
i don't think all bishounen should be able to use their lack of fashion sense on being bishounen!

Yohji? I think Tooya just screams AYA/RAN! The red hair, the stoic mysteriousness, the bad fashion sense, the devotion to one woman, the sword-like weapon. I'm telling ya, Tooya is Aya! (Makes the Aya and Aya relationship interesting...)

Seriously though I like his outfits. But I think his personality affects how people look at him. In the manga at least he smiles, but after Fushigi Yugi, Watase's poor character development was a shock. Probably to keep the aire of mystery, but jeez, he still could have had personality!

Whatever though, I love the outfit with the short tank and jacket, and you cant forget the cute sunglasses.:p
