After 5 years of watching the OAV I finally got around to getting the TV series!

And it's weird...It's a sequel but in an alternate universe. Most spellcasters are given the spotlight(better angles and magic effects) wich is a good thing since I love to see people cast spells :)

But it's still weird. In the OAV had barely become a knight who had started to use a sword while in the series he's that famous hero and accomplished swordsman(he beat Shiris with one hand for Kardis's sake!)

It's funny how Parn made tha same mistake as the OAV,to fight Shiris without watching Orson lol.

Oh and one last thing, has anyone else noticed the ressemblance between Deelit and Cecil?

And I'm sure I heard the Seyuu for Ashram's voice somewhere else...Maybe in Rurouni Kenshin...

*SIGH*

Someone please tell me how to post one of those READ messages at the top of the board. I really need to get this down as something permanent:

LODOSS WAR DIDN"T START AS AN ANIME!!!!!!

It was an RPG. The RPG was turned into a set of 7 novels by author Ryo Mizuno. The 7 novels were then turned into a manga.

The OVA series episodes 1-8 is based on Novel 1. Except in Novel 1, Kashue killed Beld, not Karla, and Parn and co. never met Shiris and Orson there.

that left only 5 episodes left (9-13) that isn't enough time to cover 6 novels. The storyline for the remainder of the OVA is something Mizuno made up in which it borrowed elements of the novels but lacked events and characters in the novels.

the TV series follows the adventures of Parn and Deedlit closer to the novels. What you are watching right now is Novel 3 and 4

Novel 2 and 5 were never animated.

Episodes 1-4 of TV series is Novel 3
Episodes 5-8 of TV series is Novel 4

Shiris and Orson are introduced in Novel 3, hence they are introduced in the TV series.

Episodes 9-27 of Chronicles is Novels 6 and 7. It follows two stories, focusing on one that involves a completly new cast of characters, and another that shows Parn and the old crew fighting a war to liberate Kanon from the Marmo.
