What made you watch CCS and why? The question is as simple as that!

Well... I was just getting back into anime when I saw CCS, so it's kinda hard to answer your question...

So if I had to answer it, I'd say Tomoyo and Kero when they team up on Sakura. :D

Yea it was cute, but the main reason was because its by Clamp.... :heh:

I watch it and it makes me smile. Without fail. And that's it, really. A simple reason, true, but very important.

I like your reason!!! I think putting a smile on someone's face is one of the best gifts you can give! :)

I didn't know about CCS before CC came (*runs away very quickly*) but when I read everyone's anger about the dubbing of it I decided to do some investigations into the series since I loved the animation! When searching on the internet (and pretty much spoiling the series for myself! hehehe I have a habit of doing that!) I fell in love with the series because it has much more meaning to it than I originanally thought which was just capturing cards and dressing up in pretty costumes! I can't wait till I have enough money and be able to buy my own subbed videos and mangas!! Can't wait! :)

Well, I wanted to see CCS after I saw CC. I read alot about how people didn't like the dub, so I wanted to see what the sub was like. After I saw the sub, I never watch CC again. I like CCS better.

The fact that it was anime, and a dubbed version was showing on TV locally. Now that's rare.

So as soon as I heard, I went and got my hands on the original CCS 1st Movie. Loved every inch of it. Loved the hoe..?? Loved Kero's voice. Loved the kawaii characters. Hoped that the dub would not be a failure.

It was.

So, threw up in the basin first, then immediate conversion to CCS.

So, don't even let me hear the CardCaptors (urgh) names. They make me sick.

So does anyone actually like the dubbed version?I thought it was OK.

Actually, it depend on which country you saw it in and whether it was on Cable or Free to Air TV as apparently there are a number of different versions flying about.

Speaking for Melbourne, Australia's Free to Air Version, which is considered as one of the "less" butchered versions, it's watchable, but very bad.

Do a search for Ronin_Aquila. He has one of the more extreme views of the version down here. It isn't far off the general view though :sweatdrop

Dryden-san's answer goes for myself as well. Who needs Prozac when you've got Sakura-chan?

This is actually my reason as well. The entire series is just _so_ cute... but actually in a way that I found enjoyable... :kawaii:

Usually it's the way it's drawn that brings me to watching an anime. Which is the first reason I started watching CCS. Too bad I was only able to watch the TV version first. I also really like the charachters, especially Tomoyo-chan! Tomoyo-chan rules baby! :D

I watched the Anime because it was introduced to me by my Brothers freind. When I watched it, it reminded me of Your Under Arrest. I could see no common link, until I realised what it was. It was a 'feel good' anime. An anime that is filled with happiness and smiles and happy resolutions. No one is ever killed or hurt badly, and nothing is ever destroyed or lost, and no one is ever angry (except for Lee).

Now you have crap like 'the wild thornberries'.Cartoon network shows a fair bit of anime though, and the Sci-Fi channel show some old stuff too (alas at midnight once a week)...

The thing that caught my eye was the jolly atmosphere and the funny faces that Sakura often pulls (like the parts when she has two eyes as dots). Also,I was struck by the possiblity of an epic quest involving the usage of cards with myriad skills, where along the way there will be dangers, perils, enemies and evil but the strong sense of justice that resides in Sakura's staff will strike down all before her.

Probably the windy card to blow them away....either that or she'll beat them with her staff.Li would use the time card to help her.Meilin would use her special kung-fu moves.

Theres a wide variety of anime, your bound to run into something you don't like due to your own unique preferences. Theres some anime shows out there that are just down right disagreeable with me due to the fact that, I personally, can't stand the sheer amount of mindlessness... vice versa, it could also be said that some people are turned off by any anime show that actually requires the use of your brain. Your statement is a bit overexagerated wouldn't you say? Thats like saying all pizza is the same. Not true, different toppings give you different flavors. Ture it may have the basic application in how to make, but the varying tastes give it appeal to different people with differing tastes... sorta like anime ya know? :)

I've just now jumped on the CCS fanwagon, I avoided in the beginning since I'm one of those stubborn types who hate to admit when extremely-popular-which-appears-to-be-a-fad turns out to be something really good. My brother watched the CC on television but he always lamented that it would be much better in Japanese. He said it seemed like there was "something" missing. All of my anime regulars (at the store I work at) said the same thing, hence they all ordered their own original sub versions. My best friend happened to be one of them and she forced me to watch it with her. She had to sit on my legs--I wasn't lying about my aversion to fads. :D

The music ceased my struggling (it made me smile). I was impressed by the animation quality and the characters were to fawn over. The plot is addicting in a way I can't describe, and I always finished an episode smiling and wanting more (that's CLAMP for ya). I can now say I have four of the GN's and I'm now assisting my friend in ordering the entire series on DVD and getting my boss to make the CCS series available to rent (only CC is available ). :bawling:
