Would anyone mind to give a character face off between the oav series dub and the pioneer movie dub. Whose version is better and so on

What luck, AB's friendly-neighborhood-dub-o-phile happens to be in the neighborhood.

Belldandy: Original voice Juliette Cesario, Movie voice Ruby Marlowe. I liked the original better, because I found Marlowe made Belldandy less likeable to me for some reason. She matched the original voice really well, but a lot of her altruistic dialogue sounded really forced. Not to say that Cesario gave an Oscar-caliber performance, but I found her to be much more sympathetic and believable.

Keichii: Original voice Scott Simpson, Movie voice unknown to me: I also like the original voice better for this one. I thought Scott Simpsons was PERFECT for Keichii-I found myself hearing his voice as I read the manga. The movie actor certainly wasn't bad, but the dialogue sounded forced to me again.

Urd: Original voice I dunno, Movie voice Melissa Willaimson: Tie. Great in both.

Skuld: don't know either voice actress for this one. I think some people found the childishness in the OVA excessive, but I liked it a lot and I found her acting to be very heartfelt. Skuld didn't have that many lines in the movie so it's not a fair comparison, but the combination of immaturity and vulnerability won me over in the OVA dub.

Megumi: don't know voices again. They actually sounded identical to me, although I know it was a different actress.

Those are the only characters who are shared between the movie and the OVA who have more than a handful of lines. Final tally, counting the ties as .5 for each: OVA 4, Movie 1

This is probably increadibly biased by the fact that I liked the OVA much, much better than the movie. But I believe the original cast was better none the less. The movie cast did a good job, but the performances were uneven in my opinion.

"The chick who does Faye in Cowboy Bebop" is Wendee Lee. She did not do the voice of Urd in the Oh My Goddess Movie, but she DID do the voice of Urd in the Adventures of the Mini-Goddesses episode that was included as an extra on the Movie DVD. Lee did not do a part in the movie proper as far as I can tell. Urd was voiced by Melissa Williamson.

Lee and Williamson actually sound a lot alike though, I think I had already heard them both in several dubs before I could easily tell them apart. Williamson's voice is deeper.

I haven't seen the OAVs dubbed, so I have nothing to compare against, but I loved the dub cast for the movie. Keiichi was played by the guy who voiced Rick Hunter in Robotech a billion years ago. Cool. :D

I also thought Movie-Dub Urd was brilliant; however, it was very jarring watching her in the movie and then watching the Mini-Goddesses episode in the extras, and having two different English Urds... -.-

Well all I can say is I enjoyed the OVAs alot and I've only seen the movie in Japanese with poorly translated subtitles lol (that's Chinese bootlegs for ya)

Um... odd side note Scott Simpson and his mom are really nice I met them at AWA... no clue what that has to do with anything though :sweatdrop

Sherry Lynn voiced Skuld in the English Movie although she must be credited under a different name. Which isn't surprising I've heard rumor that Ms Lynn doesn’t really exist but is a pseudonym for an extremely prolific VA whose initials are WL. If you are a Tenchi Muyo fan though there is no mistaking Skuld’s voice as that of Sasami. It even carries the same tone as Sasami in the OAV series.

I too liked Skuld from the OAV of OMG better. Not to knock the movie performance, but I kept visualizing Sasami the whole time.
