i just finished the kare kano series and....

im highly dissapointed with the ending! what kind of ending was that? i certainly hope they continue it..and if not, ill be scarred for life =[

i figure in a real ending, they would have ended it with yukino and soichiro, but they ended it with tonami and sakura..and left us hanging...

MAN! i hope the new series comes out soon! (if they have one..) or even a movie will do..

and is it me? or is gainax just not good with ending a series?

KareKano (the ending) gives me a feeling that they rushed things and just couldn't be bothered anymore. It was disappointing I agree, because it could have been an even greater series if they actually had a proper ending.

I didn't mind watching a resolution to Tonami/Sakura's relationship, but yes, no real conclusion to the relationship between the two main characters.

I would think some sort of OVA dealing with the play could tie up the series a lot more nicely than the series ending did . . . after all, they made such a big hubbub about the play, and, in the series at least, the play never eventuated . . .

Yeah the ending of kare kano was done quite crappily.

However, Gainax said that they'll probably do a second season if the manga reaches 12 or 13 (I don't remember) volumes.

whew, thats a relief...it certainly hope its at least HALF as good as the original, and i also hope it dosent fizzle out near the ending again...oh well, id be satisfied with just a simple conclusion..

The TV series was based on the first 8 mangas of KareKano... currently they are up to volume 12, but theres not much that Gainex could do with the content that i've read so far. Most likely they will do a second season when it reaches up to volume 14. Also, if you really are interested in what happened after the tv series ended you could go pick up the manga ya know... after all the TV series is nearly identical to the Manga with the exception that they left out Kazuma of the Tv Series.

Yes they did leave out Kazuma in the Anime. Yes he is 100% in the manga... I guess I didn't make myself completely clear if one or two people were confused from what i said.

What? No they didn't..he was in a few episodes where he's supposed to be. Remember the Tsubasa-Kazuma dinner episode,he's theere. (eh,this is an old topic ^_^;)

I should clear this up since I definitely didn't make myself clear. Yes he was in it... but after they introduced him they just left him out. Compare it to the manga... theres some small stuff from the manga where Kazuma is in it and he was left out in the Anime in the latter half of the show.

Well, come to think of it.. how many series do you know from Gainax, that have a decent ending?

I know of none, altough I've seen only about 3 titles from them.

Gainax might not have great endings, (the 2 I've seen) but I think they excellent-if not best- character development in all of the anime I've seen. Wouldn't you agree??

FLCL is very weird, haha, i never really got into it, i plan to watch ALL of it sometime, i only saw 2 eps..

its kinda true about the ending thing..
(excluding kare kano, since it has a reason for a sucky ending..)

maybe gainax just dosent make sucky endings, but its hard to
end the series' they make...like eva..how did you expect them to end it? (aside from end of eva, that is, im talking about the evangelion series ending..)
