Yessir. I really liked the whole scene where Goto and the weird guy (Arakawa?) have that discussion about war and peace. I find some of their reasoning flawed but I still love surreal religious/philosophical/political discussions in movies, anime and other places. Especially with beautiful animation and ambient music. Especially when Kenji Kawai does the ambient music.

Has anyone ever seen the New Files or other series? I've only seen the movies and the first eps. of the first OVA.

I own the first and the second movie on DVD as well as the tv serie first 6 eps on DVD.

The tv show is kinda lighthearted version of Patlabor, less on the politics and more on characters. They also have more humor in it than in the movie.

I've only seen the two movies, not the TV series or the manga though. I really enjoyed it , it's probably one of the better mecha animes i've seen, even though there is very little mecha action in it. I really liked both the movies depth, they're really engrossing I thought.

Theres a new movie coming out some time isn't there? I've heard that it's loosley based on the events of one of the mangas.

yeah in movie 2 there was like about 20 minutes of action in the whole thing but the storyline was great

I just watched the first movie... I believe...

They seemed to make rather strange faces when they were angry... but it had good music, and an interesting plot, as well as characters

The one I watched was about E. Hoba and stuff, is it the first?

The one about E. Hoba is the first movie, I like the plot and the hackers theme was kinda cool too.

i got it the other day but my video recorder has broken down so i cant see it yet.
