I was disappointed with Ayashi No Ceres. The dramatic tones and tragedy was overdone. Although the concept and plot was interesting, the series failed to pull it off. The series basically threw in overused scenarios that are targeted to pull an emotion out of you...

about the only scene that seems original there was when this one teno girl transforms into Ceres and kills herself infront of Aya because she wants revenge for the death of her parents... and that scene of blood splattered on cars and all over shop windows. That's probably the one scene that at least pulled something from me... everything else was blah.

It lacked character development. It probably helps if you actually read the manga, but the series on its own either flew by too fast or needed to slow down with a few more episodes added in. I was really looking forward to it, but i wasn't impressed when I actually got to see it.

And I'm thinking the following...
DAMN TOUYA'S A BISHIE!
Man I wanna ring Aya's neck
I wanna glomp Aki
(The same applies for Yuuhi) ...ANOTHER Hotohori, Tamahome and Miaka Cringes love triangle factor a la Watase style
God I wanna kick ass like Ceres
Glomp Touya-sama
Ring Aya's neck
Did I mentioned glomp Touya?

:p

Not shouhen....

what Nairohe said

Overly dramatic and poorly placed humor. Lame ending (as in Ceres and Mikage). Your usual lame relationship development....

Aside with the entire storyline, but WHAT do you think of the character development, sw?

i'm usually thinking:
-"Aya you are *so* stupid! why don't you like Yuuhi? GAH"
-"Yuuhi is *so* adorable!"
-"Aww poor Yuuhi!"

i think of other things, but these come up the most. as in every episode XD

I always think

"Why can't Aya see that Yuuhi is so much more better for her!"

and

"Yuuhi is so cute!"

and

"This series is kinda short.... I wished that it was longer, so that I can see more of Yuuhi..." Hehehe

SPOILERS!

Let's see! I was laughing like mad when Aya got stabbed in the last ep.

I was dancing for joy when Tooya died.

When Chidori died I was actually shocked. That came as a surprise. It was a scene that touched me because I am a dedicated Yuuhi fan and I wanted him to be happy. I found the way she died was really really heartbreaking, yet it was good she didn't get to finish her sentence.

The heartbreaking story didn't actually reach me. It was about 10 times worse than Fushigi Yuugi, and I felt Yuu Watase over did it there a bit. By the end of Ayashi no Ceres I was just chanting kill them all.

It had a few good parts, but it's not my favorite series. I liked it because of the whole Ceres thing. It was an interesting subject, but basically that's where it all stops. Oh, and I liked the supporting characters a lot. Alex was really cool, and I liked him soo much in the end. Yeah, basically, the supporting characters were what made me keep on watching it.

The whole tragic drama around Tooya and Aya got really boring.

After I watched the whole thing, I had mixed feelings. I still hated Aya and Tooya, but I liked the way it ended. So, it was an ok series from where I see it. Of course I had no expectations, because I hadn't read the manga. It's not my favorite series, not by a long shot. The bishies were good though ^^

I was thinking.......

Aya's really cute..

Ceres is hot...

Damn, I wish I had celestial powers or something like that..

Aya's cousin(can't remember his name) his a big jerk.

Yuuhi's a martyr, more like hotohori!!

At the end of the series (and trying to be non-spoiler):

1. Why did Kagami act like a martyr? He could've just moved on to another unrelated business venture, yes?

2. Why did they leave Alex's character hanging, we don't have an idea what he'll do next?

3. Of all the weird ways to go, why THAT way to Aki?

4. The absolute ending of it all is WAY too normal!!

5. Man, Yuhi STILL doesn't get the girl! :(

That's all, thank you!

Cause we like Ayashi no Ceres and its fandom just won't die!

Well I was thinking:
**MAJOR SPOILERS**********

1. Damn I hate Miak- I mean Aya. (Ok, honestly, Aya was more mature and less annoying than Miaka and she was a different heroine. NOT!)

2. Yuu Watase is such a pervert but  that scene was hot...

3. Tooya must be gay. *5 seconds after he appears* Oh I guess not...

4. Oh look that was just like that one episode of Fushigi Yuugi when...

5. Wow thats ------ up.

6. You need therapy. All of you.

7. Why isn't Aya a bumbling, traumatized, weeping vessel of a human yet? I agree with the earlier post, there will be some major post-traumatic stress here...

8. Oh no Tooya's gone. Boo hoo. Cry me a river.

9. Yuuhi! Go for Yuuhi dammit!

 I could just see him trying to sell life insurance or something. "Because we all want a promising future!"

4. The absolute ending of it all is WAY too normal!!

I know! Its not like she can just grow up and be a normal person ever again...

5. Man, Yuhi STILL doesn't get the girl! :(

:( Poor poor Yuuhi. Even if Tooya's out of the picture, you know Aya will only be thinking of him if she's ever with another man.

I agree. The humour was just plain stupid (almost offensive...) and ruined most of the scenes.

I thought the Aya-Tooya relationship was just a lame rerun of the Miaka-Tamahome love. I didn't find it all that great the first time around, but it must appeal to younger viewers I guess. (Though I shudder to think of the really young watching Ayashi!)

I don't think it was overly dramatic though. The scenes were gut-wrenching. I can't help but think how can anyone live through that emotionally? Although some Aya-feeling-sorry-for-herself scenes were not that sympathetically portrayed. They came out like whining, when they shouldn't. The romantic aspect wasn't very interesting to me at all. I think the family tragedy was the most "dramatic".

Wow I agree with EVERYTHING you've said.

Bishies, yes. Aya-Tooya, no.

I must find the manga...

I actually saw the manga in comic book stores. They even translated it in english. Although something tells me they probably ruined it completely.

I think I flipped through the whole first volume. They were pretty accurate with the show in that first bit there...

I liked the plot, but the ending sucked. So it was:

~OOOOh toyas yummy! :p
~ *gasp* OOOh Yuuhis kawaii too
~ I WANNA SEE YUUHI AND TOYA DUKE IT OUT! :D
~ wha? its the end already.... but Ayas supposed to go with Yuuhi... Why dont I get to see the baby?!
~Oh Toyas gonna die... Ayas gonna forget about him and go with Yuuhi! WOO!

The ending was too quick -_-
